Our team focus on big ticket company side financial and operational restructuring assignments in addition to Chief Restructuring Officer (CRO) /CEO/ CFO appointments and, within the last few years, we have delivered on some of Europe’s largest restructuring cases such as Abengoa, Heijmans, Bouwfonds, Intertoys, Toys R Us, Nyrstar, Seadrill, Macintosh, and Continental Foods in addition to working for leading Private Equity companies.

A&M advise on every aspect of the restructuring process – from the business strategy to cash conservation/liquidity management, to business plan development and implementation. We are expanding our practice in Amsterdam and we seek a talented and entrepreneurial recruit who is interested in developing their career in the Turnaround & Restructuring space & join us as an Analyst.

Main responsibilities;

  • Gain exposure on high profile Dutch and European Restructuring projects reporting to Managing Directors & senior members of their teams  
  • Work with the team to offer critical assistance to companies that are under-performing or experiencing a full-blown liquidity crisis
  • Develop the skills to ascertain & understand a client’s rapidly changing situation and to enable creative and innovative solutions/options for the businesses and its stakeholders
  • Support company management & learn to stabilise financial and operational performance
  • Gain exposure to senior management in the Netherlands and internationally, gaining ‘on the job’ learning & development in addition to established formal training programmes
  • Develop your technical & financial analysis skills and gain a broad range of advisory experience working on a variety of restructuring projects
  • Contribute to business development activities including the creation of client pitches and proposals to win new mandates

  • Financial and Operational Restructuring
  • Balance Sheet Restructuring
  • Asset Sales
  • Cash & liquidity management and forecasting
  • Cross-border wind-downs
  • Preparation and validation of business plans for company management teams
  • Independent business reviews
  • Short term cash flow forecasting frameworks
  • Profit Improvement (Sales Improvement and Cost Reduction)

Applicants;

  • Strong academic track record with experience in Big 4 firm or similar accounting firm / corporate restructuring, investment or commercial banking
  • Exposure to working with operational & finance teams within large, distressed organisations
  • Well-developed communication skills & the ability to work with diverse and complex stakeholder groups
  • Good understanding of financial knowledge with experience of building or working with integrated financial models and have Excel/PowerPoint skills
  • Native or fluent Dutch & English is essential. Additional European languages are advantageous
