Alvarez & Marsal Tax is seeking a highly qualified candidate with at least 4 years of tax experience for a full time position as International Tax Manager/Director.

A&M is the Tax practice of A&M. Our professionals work on a variety of sophisticated tax technical subjects, as well as manage day-to-day client service relationships. Our people and our services are the gateway to a variety of specialized and customized tax solutions that help to improve compliance with tax authorities while maintaining each client’s overall tax risk profile and business success.

What do we do?

Our International Tax Services Include

  • Assisting foreign institutional investors/pension funds with their US investments.
  • Assisting multinational enterprises with expansion in the US.
  • Assisting foreign professional firms with their US tax questions.
  • Managing a team/supervising others
  • Performing structuring and diligence services regarding US investments in business operations, real estate, and timber.
  • Providing compliance and operational assistance to REITs and other real estate holding companies
  • Providing advice to wealthy individuals moving into or out of the US.
  • Preparing tax returns and other compliance for foreign taxpayers and their US subsidiaries.
  • Preparing tax provisions for US subsidiaries and branch operations.
  • Preparing complex computations and governmental disclosures related to FIRPTA and partnership withholding, GILTI, section 163(j)
     

How You'll Contribute

  • Manage the international tax compliance function for one of our business units
  • Prepare tax diligence reports for foreign investors
  • Draft technical memoranda and opinions;
  • Prepare financial and tax models computing cash tax impacts of proposed planning;
  • Research technical issues pertaining to international tax issues and tax treaties:
  • Prepare and review foreign information tax disclosures

*Prior experience in these areas are not required as we will train in these areas.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred but not required

• CPA, JD, Masters in Taxation, or LL.M desirable

• Demonstrate an understanding of increasingly complex tax concepts and effectively apply tax knowledge to client situations;

• 4 years of tax experience

• Strong writing, analytical, research and organizational skills

• Strong communication, presentation, project management, and business development skills

• Strong sense of personal motivation as well as the ability to work with a team

• Ability to work in dynamic, time-sensitive environment

• Strong Excel, Word, and Power Point skills

Compensation Statement:

The following annual base salary ranges are for candidates applying to work in New York state: Manager: $105,000 - $130,000, Director: $130,000 - $155,000.  In addition, A&M offers a discretionary bonus program which is based on a number of factors, including performance.  Please ask your recruiter for details.
