Alvarez & Marsal is looking for strong candidates at the Senior Director, Director, and Manager levels with financial and accounting experience to join our team to deliver large, complex and transformational client engagements. A&M helps a company’s CFO and key finance leaders re-imagine the finance function and identify methods to improve a company’s back office, FP&A and reporting processes leveraging best practices, digital processes, org redesign and technology.

The ideal candidate will have experience and knowledge in the following areas:

  • Performing Finance and Accounting current state assessments leading to a Future-State vision and strategy for the CFO organization

  • Finance and accounting process improvement including core finance functions (AR, Credit, AP, General Accounting, Payroll) cash forecasting, revenue assurance and financial reporting

  • Financial system selection, roadmap and strategy

  • Deployment of digital assets such as RPA and Smart Workflows

  • Rapid cost reduction

  • Working capital improvement

  • Organization design, organization improvement or finance and accounting function buildout

  • Shared services design and implementation

  • Outsourcing governance and improvement

  • Business case development and management including benchmarking, KPI design and measurement

  • Ability to lead large-scale multi-year projects

Responsibilities:

  • Develop ongoing client relationships at every level through delivery of existing work, looking for new opportunities to assist, and providing thought leadership and being a true trusted advisor.

  • Assist in the planning and execution project phases, and supervise others as necessary to ensure the following: coordinating work efforts with the client; completion of defined deliverables; adherence to project milestones and timelines; communication of progress to all parties (internal and external); and managing team members, as necessary

  • Provide service excellence by identifying key client business issues and driving, measuring and reporting on results of engagements

  • Determine client needs by supplementing the standard assessment techniques and tools with innovative approaches

  • Evaluate and validate analysis and develop recommendations for the client in the context of the overall engagement

  • Implement and oversee the quality of deliverables

  • Effectively manage the team and day-to-day relationships to ensure exceptional performance

  • Participate in the development and presentation of proposals for business development activities

Qualifications:

  • 6-20 years of relevant consulting, public accounting or industry experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, or finance; MBA a plus

  • Prior Big 4 experience a plus

  • Digital experience a plus

  • Shared Services leadership or outsourcing advisory a plus

  • Strong financial acumen

  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills (MS Excel, MS Visio, MS PowerPoint)

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment

  • Comfortable with travel up to 80%

  • Ability to handle multiple, and often conflicting, priorities at one time
