The regulatory changes impacting audit practices across Europe have had a significant impact on the Restructuring practices of the Big 4 accounting firms leading to divestures and change previously unthinkable. There is a huge opportunity for growth and A&M has expanded its Restructuring practice significantly across Europe investing in hires at every level within the business.

A&M’s Financial Restructuring Advisory practice enables companies, investors, lenders, and secured creditor groups in complex restructuring processes to evaluate the risks and opportunities of a company’s business plan and restructuring alternatives in order to maximize recovery.

This is a unique opportunity for an Analyst to join an established & growing business and play an instrumental role in delivering exciting projects to clients. The successful candidate will work with experienced colleagues to deliver multi-stakeholder, multi-national and domestic restructuring advisory engagements delivering a blend of review and stakeholder advisory work to clients.

Main responsibilities:

  • Work as part of a team to help & advise company stakeholders facing financial difficulties; assess Group-level financial performance in addition to high-level studies of the financial viability of subsidiary companies
  • Tasks can include: Initial diagnostic assessment of key issues and business outlook including company financials, appraisal of options and contingency planning, cash flow assessments and Independent Business Reviews
  • Assist in the preparation of corporate strategic/ turnaround plans in addition to implementation support for domestic and international groups and subsidiaries
  • Contribute to performance monitoring following business plan implementation
  • Participate in all the phases of a refinancing process advising both, borrowers and lenders
  • Contribute to business development activities including the creation of client pitches and proposals to win new mandates
  • Contribute to building a strong, trusted, long term relationships with key stakeholders across the Nordic and European lending community through the delivery of value-added client engagements

Candidate profile

  • Strong academic background
  • 0-2+ years of relevant experience from Corporate Finance / Debt Financing / Big 4 environment (previous full-time work or part-time/internship experience)
  • Previous experience in financial restructuring and/or turnaround situations is advantageous but not required
  • Demonstrate the ability to conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis, build financial models & analyse financial under-performance and related tasks
  • Fluent business level English is essential and additional language skills including Swedish, Danish, Finnish or Norwegian are highly desirable
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Powerpoint)
