The Team

Since inception, the global tax team at A&M has enjoyed exponential growth. Our team has grown to over 600 professionals across the globe and we are now looking to further continue this growth in the Netherlands

The tax team in Amsterdam works closely together with all the A&M service lines including the Benelux Transaction Advisory Group. A&M’s Global Transaction Advisory Group is the largest transaction advisory practice outside the Big 4 audit firms.. The global practice is a fully integrated cross border team delivering on in-country, pan European and Global projects to leading Private Equity clients, Financial Institutions and Corporates.  We are completely free from audit conflicts.

We are expanding our tax practice rapidly and are looking to recruit Managers into our Amsterdam office. This is a unique opportunity to be part of the growth story in the Netherlands and the Tax team. A&M in the Netherlands offers integrated financial and tax advisory without the independence and administration issues of the large accounting firms. This offers an opportunity to coordinate EU/global projects on an integrated basis with our UK team.

The ideal candidate will be ambitious, diligent, action-orientated, and hands-on.  The individual will have a background in corporate tax, preferably experience with M&A transactions and will be able to quickly establish, develop and enhance internal and client relationships. 

Primary responsibilities:

  • Providing advice to clients regarding tax technical issues in the Netherlands and globally

  • Establishing and managing client relationships:

    • Dealing directly with clients to assimilate their tax concerns

    • Identifying areas of risk for clients and working with Managing Director to develop risk mitigation strategies

    • Liaising with tax specialists in other areas

    • Co-ordinating with international Tax teams

  • Providing advice in all aspects of Dutch transactions tax advisory work:

    • Producing due diligence reports in respect of buy-side and sell-side mandates

    • Supporting buy-side clients in respect of tax modelling and funds flow workstreams

    • Drafting advisory reports on transaction structuring in respect of the acquisition / disposal of investments

    • Working to client or Managing Director set deadlines to deliver completed reports

  • Providing clients with ad-hoc advice on day to day tax issues

  • Monitoring the Dutch tax compliance status of clients, including ATAD 2, DAC6, OECD Pillar 2 and coordinating CIT and VAT compliance.

Other responsibilities:

  • Undertaking technical research projects

  • Involved in business development and marketing initiatives

Qualifications:

  • Fluent business level English and Dutch is essential.

  • A Dutch university degree in tax law or economics

  • Relevant/appropriate tax experience - we can only consider candidates with Dutch Tax experience for this role
