Senior Associate (m/f/d) Restructuring & Turnaround

Our experienced experts in A&M's area of expertise Restructuring successfully advise clients in strategic, operational and existential crisis situations. We help to sustainably improve earnings and profitability targets and to restore the financial performance of companies. Often acting in interim key functions, Alvarez & Marsal is able to lead its clients out of challenging situations in a sustainable manner and is therefore the first port of call for companies, banks, law firms or private equity firms. 

As a Senior Associate (m/f/d) you will manage the following key responsibilities, supported by the Restructuring & Turnaround team  


  • Quickly understand a clients rapidly changing situation to enable innovative solutions/options for distressed businesses and their stakeholders 

  • Company side Restructuring including building 13-week cash flow forecasts 

  • Liquidity management, including understanding the impact of risk, P&L and asset efficiency (working capital) & performance improvement processes 

  • Financial modelling including assessing long-term company viability, as well as understanding and applying valuation methods in a restructuring context 


At best you have some relevant consulting experience within the Restructuring team and the following qualifications: 


  • Excellent university degree 

  • Balance Sheet Restructuring 

  • Cash & liquidity management and forecasting 

  • Cross-border wind-downs 

  • Preparation and validation of business plans  

  • Independent business reviews 

  • Short term cash flow forecasting frameworks 

  • Stakeholder reporting on PMO cost saving initiatives 

  • Excellent German and English language skills, other foreign languages are of advantage.
