A&M’s Private Equity Performance Improvement (PEPI) practice focuses on serving upper middle market and large cap private equity firms who have engaged A&M to help improve financial and operating results at their portfolio companies 

The Cost Optimization Program as a part of our PEPI function is a holistic, cross-functional, operational approach that focuses on quickly identifying high impact development for EBITDA, reduce cost, increase cash flow and profitability across the entire operation. Our experienced experts focus on driving significant improvements in operating expense cost structure by simplifying the business, streamlining the organization, and increasing efficiency of overhead spending. 

As a (Senior) Associate (m/f/d) you will manage the following key responsibilities, supported by the European Corporate Transformation team  

  • Structuring a performance improvement plan and managing the process through to completion 

  • Identifying opportunities to significantly reduce Operating Expense cost structure by changing business leadership structure, sales and sales support staffing levels, business unit and functional management structure, and improvements to efficiency of all major back-office functions 

  • Implementing programs to reduce Operating Expense cost structure, including changes to roles and responsibilities, implementation of supporting processes, and execution of workforce reductions 

  • Working with clients directly to implement strategic and operational recommendations 

At best you already have some relevant consulting experience and the following qualifications: 

  • Experience with implementing operating expense cost reduction programs 

  • First project leadership experience 

  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills 

  • Structured project management (time, team and work-stream’s management) 

  • Fluency to business level in both written and spoken English and German
