This is a fantastic opportunity to join Alvarez & Marsal’s Financial Restructuring Advisory Team as a Credit Research Analyst.  

The Credit Research Analyst will assist our Business Development Director in identifying financial restructuring project opportunities or pipeline for our Financial Restructuring team.

The successful candidate will conduct research, co-ordinate lead generation and contribute to research reports on stressed and distressed companies across the EMEA region. They conduct financial modelling, multiple and ratio analysis, historical analysis and forecast of quarterly and annual income statements, balance sheets and cash flow statements.

Essential Skills:

  • Experience of evaluating distressed / special situations and the credit analysis required to identify trigger points
  • Good knowledge of credit assessment techniques (ideally with prior formal training or experience) and ability to analyse a corporate’s financial statements across a range of sectors, as well as the possibility to continue to develop further credit analysis and financial modelling skills.
  • An understanding of the dynamics of the restructuring market and the work undertaken by financial restructuring advisors

The successful candidate will have:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in addition to the ability to work with people at all levels
  • A highly-developed sense of teamwork and cooperation
  • Strong ambition coupled with career motivation, an entrepreneurial approach and the desire to succeed
  • The ability to manage workflow under strict deadlines
  • Strong academic record or equivalent experience
  • European language skills beneficial but not essential & an international outlook
