A&M FIAS works with leading Financial Services Institutions across Europe and revolves around four core areas of expertise: Performance Improvement, Loan Portfolio Advisory, Bank Restructuring and Regulatory Advisory. A&M’s Portfolio Advisory Group (PAG) is a leading advisor to financial institutions, platforms, investors and financiers for credit, distressed assets, non-banking assets and real estate transactions. Reflecting its international marketplace, the team is headquartered in London and Madrid, with comprehensive coverage across markets in EMEA through our other offices.

The team cover a range of products, such as credit advisory, corporate M&A (lending businesses, origination and servicing platforms for credit and real estate), secured funding and securitization advisory. The team include many of the most respected, trusted and highly skilled advisors in the industry and they have advised on every major European non-core transaction in the past five years.

Against a backdrop of unparalleled growth and promotions, an opportunity exists for us to strengthen our PAG team in Milan at the Senior Associate / Associate level and contribute to a growing and highly experienced Senior Management team.  As a valued member of the PAG team, you will work on a variety of projects, providing your Financial Services industry knowledge to financial institutions, private equity firms & investment funds, asset managers, regulators and governments across the globe while advising them on key aspects of their business models, ranging from balance sheet optimization, asset, platform and portfolio solutions, including full coverage of the underlying phases such as structuring, financing, acquisition, asset management, disposal and workout.

This is a fantastic opportunity for the successful candidate to become involved in a ‘hands on’, market leading team, analyzing & challenging the status quo and developing solutions that provide a significant value add for clients.  

Responsibilities:

• Work closely with stakeholders and professionals from leading financial institutions
• Use the commercial aspects of your financial analysis skills, in addition to gaining exposure to the key drivers and considerations which drive a transaction
• Analyse market trends, financial metrics, and regulatory/legal restrictions to assess impact to client’s portfolio and help evaluate different investment strategies
• Assist in producing financial models and analysis of credit linked cash flow models, including projections
• Contribute to financial analysis, research and reports and the preparation of pitch presentations for potential clients
• Collect, assimilate, and analyse relevant data to produce insights and solutions
• Be an action-oriented self-starter with strong analytical skills
• Be comfortable working independently as well as in a highly performing team
• Assisting in handling and analyzing large set of data

The successful candidate will have the opportunity be involved in business development activities and will join the team meetings where WIP, project pipeline, resourcing, marketing, and business development initiatives are discussed. You will be actively involved in these discussions and be an integrated part of the pan European A&M FIAS team.

Requirements:

• Strong academic track record including a degree (or equivalent) in a relevant finance, economics, or business-related subject
• Experience in loan portfolio advisory. Examples include loan portfolio transactions (sell side or buy side), asset quality reviews and stress tests, loan file and portfolio reviews, portfolio pricing, securitization transactions and real estate analysis
• Experience in financial services industry, including M&A transactions, business planning and strategic / management advisory, post-merger integration and project management
• 3-5 years of professional experience in the Financial Services industry including Investment Banking, advisory Firms or other well-established boutique Advisory firms.
• Action-oriented self-starter with excellent analytical skills (Excel, Alteryx, Tableau, Python, etc) & presentation skills (PowerPoint)Methodical and logical mindset to problem solving, an effective approach to time management and the ability to work to tight deadlines.
• Fluent business level in English and Italian is essential. Additional European language(s) skills, including French, Spanish and Dutch would be highly desirable.
• A professional qualification including ACA / ACCA/ CFA qualification (or equivalent) is advantageous
