A&M’s Portfolio Advisory Group (PAG) is a leading advisor to financial institutions, platforms, investors and financiers for credit, distressed assets, non-banking assets and real estate transactions. Reflecting its international marketplace, the team is headquartered in London and Madrid, with comprehensive coverage across markets in EMEA through our other offices.

The team cover a range of products, such as credit advisory, corporate M&A (lending businesses, origination and servicing platforms for credit and real estate), secured funding and securitisation advisory. The team include many of the most respected, trusted and highly skilled advisors in the industry and they have advised on every major European non-core transaction in the past five years.

Against a backdrop of unprecedented growth and promotions, an opportunity exists for us to strengthen our PAG team in Athens at the Senior Associate / Associate level in order to contribute to a growing and highly experienced Senior Management team.  As a valued member of the PAG team, you will work on a variety of projects, leveraging your Financial Services industry knowledge to advise financial institutions, private equity firms & other investment funds, asset managers, regulators and governments across the globe with advice on balance sheet & portfolio optimisation, acquisitions, disposals, financing, management, bank restructuring and resolutions.

This is a fantastic opportunity for the successful candidate to become involved in a ‘hands on’, market leading team, analysing & challenging the status quo and developing solutions that provide a significant value add for clients.  

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with stakeholders and professionals from leading financial institutions
  • Use the commercial aspects of your financial analysis skills, in addition to gaining exposure to the key drivers and valuation considerations which drive a transaction
  • Analyse market trends, financial metrics, and regulatory/legal restrictions to assess impact to client’s portfolio and help evaluate different investment strategies
  • Assist in producing financial models and analysis of credit linked cash flow models and projections
  • Contribute to financial analysis, research and reports and the preparation of pitch presentations for potential clients
  • Collect, assimilate, and analyse relevant data to produce insights and solutions
  • Be an action-oriented self-starter with strong analytical skills
  • Be comfortable working independently as well as in a high performing team
  • Assisting in manipulating and analysing large quantities of data

The successful candidate will have the opportunity be involved in business development activities and will join the team meetings where WIP, project pipeline, resourcing, marketing and business development initiatives are discussed. You will be actively involved in these discussions and be an integrated part of the pan European A&M FSI team.

Requirements:

  • Strong academic track record including a degree (or equivalent) in a relevant finance, economics or business-related subject
  • Experience in loan portfolio advisory. Examples include loan portfolio transactions (sell side or buy side), asset quality reviews and stress tests, loan file and portfolio reviews, loan loss estimates, valuations, loan restructuring and recovery solutions, securitisation transactions, bank performance improvement, merger integration initiatives and project management
  • A professional qualification including ACA / ACCA/ CFA qualification (or equivalent) is advantageous
  • Previous experience in the Financial Services industry including Investment Banking, Big 4 Firms or other well-established and respected boutique Advisory firms
  • Excellent financial analytical skills (Excel, Alteryx, Tableau, Python, etc) & presentation skills (Powerpoint)
  • Action-oriented self-starter with strong analytical skills
  • Methodical and logical mindset to problem solving, an effective approach to time management and the ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Fluent business level English & Greek is essential. Additional European language skills including French, Spanish, Dutch, German or Italian are highly desirable
