We are currently growing our Research Credit & Incentives (RCIS) practice and the services we provide.We are currently seeking a Manager/Director specializing in Cost Segregation to join our team..  A Cost Segregation Manager/Director is responsible for providing consulting services to clients in a wide range of fixed asset depreciation practice areas. Our group’s core service offering is traditional cost segregation studies, but we also collaborate with a broader team that provides fixed asset depreciation consulting, green energy tax incentives, and repairs and maintenance review. We assist clients and colleagues in identifying ways to improve returns on capital investments and to minimize federal, state, and local taxes, whether the investments are new construction, renovations of existing facilities, or building and asset acquisitions.
 

What Will You Be Doing?

As a Manager/Director within the Cost Segregation Practice, you will:

  • Perform all aspects of in-depth, engineered based, cost segregation studies for federal income tax purposes – including takeoffs, cost estimates, modeling, work papers, and deliverables.
  • Lead and manage cost segregation studies, including oversight, communications, and performance of key client engagements.
  • Provide technical engineering and tax support for our conclusions in the event of challenge by the Internal Revenue Service.
  • Manage risk, resources, staffing and financial performance for multiple engagements at once including billing, collections, and project budgets.

  • Identify key tax issues and accurately quantify the impact to in a clear, concise, and thoughtful analysis.
  • Build client relationships and demonstrate a working knowledge of client businesses.
  • Conduct day-to-day management of accounts to ensure delivery of timely and accurate work product.
  • Supervise, develop, mentor, and motivate our Associates and Senior Associates by actively participating in their advancement through on-the-job training, providing performance feedback, counseling, and fostering our team-based atmosphere.
  • Manage workload and deadlines for Associates and Senior Associates with focuses on quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of the project team.
  • Demonstrate commitment and desired behaviors while working with others that have diverse experiences, skills and perspectives.
  • Regularly supports business development efforts including seeing opportunities for add on work, thought leadership, new client pitches, and optimizing the compliance process.
  • Flexibility to travel to client sites 25%+ of the time.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction, or related field
  • Minimum of four years of cost segregation experience with a reputable national service provider, preferably with an accounting/financial services organization
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Familiar with construction take-off software and cost estimating tools
  • Experience with blueprint reading and plan takeoffs
  • Knowledge of engineering and construction methods and terminology
  • Familiarity with industry specific reference manuals, including RS Means, Marshal Valuation Service, and the US Master Depreciation Guide
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to articulate complex information in a tax and non-tax setting
  • Advanced analytical skills with an aptitude for technical research
  • Able to manage others well under self-direction
  • Detail oriented and possess strong organizational skills to excel in a deadline-driven environment
  • High motivation to learn and grow

Compensation Statement

The annual base salary range for Manager is $105,000 - 115,000 and Director is $130,000 - $140,000, commensurate with experience. In addition, A&M offers a discretionary bonus program which is based on a number of factors, including individual and firm performance.  Please ask your recruiter for details
