What will you be doing?

You will be working closely with a team to assess complex economic issues in disputes between and investigations of large corporations. You will support clients is litigation and regulatory investigations involving antitrust and competition, securities, international arbitration, and class actions.

Using your economic theory, econometrics, and quantitative methods, you will be helping our clients and their counsel understand and resolve the economic issues around their legal matters across a wide range of projects and industries, including financial services, healthcare, energy, environmental, and technology. Working as a partner to our clients by building consultative relationships you will develop an in-depth understanding of the client, the industry and the case to surface and address key issues, from the big picture to the smallest details. You will develop and communicate your analyses, findings, and insights to your team. Relying on your initiative and flexibility to deliver results in an agile and collaborative team environment, you will build strong relationships with clients, legal counsel, and expert witnesses. Some of the main responsibilities are:

  • Applying technical skills and economic training in conducting technical research across a variety of industries
  • Creating and implementing complex economic analyses using economic and financial models
  • Drafting expert reports and client presentations
  • Partnering with senior team members to influence project strategy and suggesting solutions to complex problems
  • Managing client relationships while balancing multiple projects and engagement administration
  • Developing project management skills while overseeing project teams, ensuring client deliverables are well documented and of the highest quality
  • Communicating proactively and presenting effectively to all levels of the engagement team
  • Developing project work plans, strategy, and budgets
  • Participating in business development initiatives and other practice-level initiatives

Qualifications: 

  • PhD in economics or related field preferred or graduate degree with 5+ years of experience in economic consulting
  • Graduate training in economic theory and econometrics with a strong academic record
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong presentation and project management skills
  • Track record of high-quality economic research, including economic modeling
  • Expert in at least one statistical programming language (Stata, SAS, R, etc.) with experience in Python and SQL preferred
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work under pressure in diverse teams
  • Ability and willingness to maintain a flexible work schedule in order to meet client needs
  • Ability to work in a flexible hybrid work arrangement, part time in physical office and remote
  • Flexibility to travel
