Internship Program - Financial Services Transformation - Start January 2024

Alvarez & Marsal (“A&M”) is a global consulting firm with more than $2+ billion in revenues, c.6,000+ staff and 65 offices around the globe, and a broad range of professional services including Transaction Advisory, Restructuring, Performance Improvement, Corporate Transformation, Financial Institutions Advisory, Tax, Valuations, and Disputes and Investigation Services.

Financial Services - FS (Financial Services), advises the C-level of large French / European Financial Institutions ( banks, assurance etc...) by proposing strategic transformation, performance improvement and cost reduction approaches. A&M FS is built around three main areas of expertise; performance improvement, bank restructuring and regulatory advice.

We are now expanding our French Financial Services team and we are looking for ambitious Interns to be based in Paris and work across the European team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for you to learn more about financial services advisory and become involved in a ‘hands-on’ team.

The successful candidate will:

  • Join a growing team with strong leadership, bright, energetic people with a truly entrepreneurial spirit

  • Have a strong knowledge of the banking and insurance french landscape

  • Gain exposure to Financial institutions network such as banks, insurance, mortgage companies

  • Gain experience in Financial services advisory

  • Passionate about complex transformation problematics and how to improve companies performance

  • Operate in a European team and gain insight to project in the UK and other countries (Germany, Netherlands, Sweden, etc).

The main tasks will include:

  • Work very closely with our senior management and support the business growth

  • Structure and carry out essential research and Financial intuitions market analysis

  • Performing research on potential targets and helping prepare “points of view” documents on such targets

  • Support the commercial activity, preparation for client pitches

  • Assisting in managing intelligence on forthcoming deals, and working on targeting Financial Institutions


  • Fluent French and English (both are mandatory) written and spoken

  • At least 6month internship experience in banking or consulting

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Proficient with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

  • Fluent business level English and French are essential. Additional European language skills including Dutch, German, Italian or Spanish are highly desirable

  • Available and eligible for an internship of 6month in France
