A&M's Financial Services Industry (FSI) practice is a newly formed business unit at Alvarez & Marsal.  FSI helps create sustainable value for our clients through our operational heritage and in-depth knowledge of the financial services industry.

FSI is looking for Managing Directors with deep experience in one or more of the following:

  • Insurance
  • Wealth Management
  • Asset Management
  • Payments/Consumer Finance
  • Exchanges, Asset Servicing, Data Providers
  • Fintech
  • Banking / Capital Markets

Skillsets or service offerings experience includes:

  • Transformation (Strategy, Cost Reduction, Operating Model / Organizational Redesign)
  • Revenue & Growth
  • Data, Analytics, & AI
  • Innovation
  • End-to-end Merger & Acquisition services


  • Business development for financial services industry
  • Working across peer levels and solution networks to collaborate and deliver scaled complimentary client solutions
  • Managing client relationships to establish and maintain alignment
  • Implementing and overseeing the quality of deliverables
  • Effectively leading solution team members, project teams and day-to-day relationships to ensure exceptional performance
  • Demonstrate domain expertise through the development of peers and team members

  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills
  • Strong interpersonal/team skills, high E.Q.
  • Working knowledge of MS Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment
  • Ability to address strategic issues and act tactically understanding cross functional requirements
  • 15+ years of relevant industry and consulting experience
  • Comfortable with travel
