Director/Senior Director, Infrastructure & Capital Projects (US) – Public Sector

Alvarez & Marsal (A&M), a leading independent global professional services firm, is seeking Senior Director, Director, and Manager(s) to join its Infrastructure & Capital Projects (I&CP) practice who are focused on working in the public sector. With professionals around the world, the A&M I&CP team has deep hands-on experience in industries such as power, oil & gas, manufacturing, mining, transportation, clean energy, real estate, public sector and others.

I&CP professionals at these levels work closely with clients, team members, and internal stakeholders to drive growth and deliver high quality consulting services across the public sector I&CP portfolio, with commercial opportunities as a secondary focus. This individual will have a significant focus on sales/business development and will solve highly complex challenges faced by state and local governments, private sector clients, and recipients of federal grants.

Our I&CP professionals:

  • Source opportunities aligned to the I&CP market strategy and support pursuit activities related to the I&CP pipeline executing all elements of the BD lifecycle.
  • Demonstrate an “entrepreneurial” mindset, showing the ability to think strategically, ambition, and drive
  • Identify and secure teaming partners across an ecosystem of large and small businesses aligned to I&CP’s priorities and portfolio
  • Identify and lead responses to Requests for Information (RFIs), Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Request for Quotation (RFQs)
  • Lead project delivery and have engagement management responsibilities with a focus on deliverable quality and client relationships
  • Collaborate with other A&M lines of service, industry groups, and operations teams to sell and deliver high quality client service
  • Lead meetings and presentations with management and executive level stakeholders (clients and internal), displaying mastery of the scope of work or subject
  • Lead, coach and mentor team members and other professionals.

Experience

This individual should have:

  • Experience administering federal grants at the state and local government levels, particularly in the application, management, compliance monitoring, and reporting for any of the following federal funding sources:
      • IIJA and IRA grants, incentives, loans, etc.
      • ARPA funds
      • FEMA Public Assistance, HMGP, BRIC, others
      • HUD CDBG-DR/CDBG-MIT
  • Experience applying for and managing federal grants for companies in the private sector
  • Experience overseeing, reporting on, and/or managing construction projects
  • Experience successfully leading/managing projects and building/maintaining client relationships

Qualifications:

  • Degree in engineering, construction management, architecture, or related field
  • MBA or other master’s degree preferred
  • Experience managing complex projects in a multicultural corporate environment
  • Availability to travel according to client and business development requirements
  • People management, leadership, and team building skills;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills;
  • Ability to develop and maintain long-term relationships with clients on a variety of levels, with a focus on executive stakeholders;
  • Ability to seek new client and project opportunities for A&M.
