Senior Associate (Data Analytics), Disputes and Investigations

What will you be doing?

You will be working closely with a team to resolve complex matters that pose a threat or disruption to normal operations for our clients. You will support incisive fraud investigations, create forensic analysis, and provide litigation support.

You will be helping our clients and their counsel understand and resolve the financial impacts around their legal matters relating to complex accounting and financial issues across a wide range of projects involving economic disputes, claims, misunderstandings, investigations of white-collar crime, forensic accounting and consulting, and post-acquisition disputes.  Working as a partner to our clients by building consultative relationships you will develop an in-depth understanding of the client, the industry and the case to surface and address key issues, from the big picture to the smallest details.  You will use your technical skills to help analyze various forms of structured and unstructured data, identify and deploy analytical methods for effective and rigorous analysis, and think creatively about visualization and presentation of insights.    Relying on your initiative and flexibility to deliver results in an agile and collaborative team environment, you will build strong relationships with clients, legal counsel, and expert witnesses.  Some of the main responsibilities are:

  • Assisting with compiling, normalizing, and analyzing disparate datasets to help our clients solve problems in an investigation, dispute, or accounting related matter
  • Working with large datasets, assisting our advisory teams in gaining insights through a variety of data-driven solutions such as statistical analysis, financial modeling, KPI and management reporting, utilizing tools such as SAS, R, Python, or SQL to interrogate and understand data.
  • Perform advanced querying techniques in SQL (and other database languages) to profile, summarize, make sense of, and trace information across systems
  • Contributing to the updating of complex financial models and analyses
  • Documenting analyses assumptions, methodologies, and sources of information used
  • Assisting with the drafting of reports and other client deliverables
  • Performing quality control review of reports and other client deliverables
  • Balancing multiple client projects and other responsibilities
  • Communicating proactively and presenting effectively to all levels of the engagement team

  • Bachelor’s degree with a technical and/or analytical focus (i.e., computer science, information systems, engineering) with a minor or dual major in Finance or Accounting
  • An excellent academic record from an accredited university
  • Analytical mindset - critical thinking and complex problem solving
  • Technical skills including SQL, Python, R, VBA, Tableau required
  • Experience with relational databases
  • Experience with ETL software such as Microsoft SSIS, Alteryx ETL, and Pentaho preferred
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Effective interpersonal skills - good team player with the ability to work under pressure
  • Ability and willingness to maintain a flexible work schedule in order to meet client needs
  • Hybrid - Ability to work in a flexible hybrid work arrangement, part time in physical office and remote. 
  • Flexibility to travel

The salary range is $80,000 - $110,000 annually, dependent on several variables including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography. In addition, A&M offers a discretionary bonus program which is based on a number of factors, including individual and firm performance.  Please ask your recruiter for details.
