A&M’s Private Equity Performance Improvement Services (PEPI) practice focuses on serving upper middle market and large cap private equity firms who have engaged A&M to help improve financial and operating results at their portfolio companies.
Within the PEPI practice our carve-out experts advise Private Equity owned Portfolio Companies in driving carve-outs to achieve significant operational change or performance improvement agenda. By performing carve-outs, further performance improvement initiatives and with an operational approach we support Private Equity backed businesses covering both short- and longer-term transformational delivery.
As a Director (m/f/d) you will manage the following key responsibilities, supported by the European Private Equity Performance Improvement team:
Managing rapid diagnostics through analytical and qualitative insight to identify opportunities to transform a PE-owned organisation’s current performance;
Subsequent implementation of the opportunities through development and execution of a transformation plan tied closely to EBITDA and working capital improvement;
Buy-side and sell-side carve-out leadership to clients and project teams, whilst also recognising a performance improvement or change agenda involving both cost reduction and revenue enhancement opportunities;
Evaluating the pre-deal carve-out situation, including definition of the perimeter, carve-out complexity, cost and risks;
Leading post-acquisition implementation of a carve-out, including preparation for Day-1, TSA management, TSA exit planning, and transition to the standalone
Work to ensure that our Operational Due Diligence reports are realized in full and in the shortest possible time, in the context of a carve-out, with a clear path to delivering the growth, cost reduction, and the identified quick wins;
Encompassing in the 100-day planning process, in the context of a carve-out, with the merger of two organizations and the need to drive synergies.
At best you already have some relevant consulting experience and the following qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university is essential;
Extensive knowledge of delivering buy-side and sell-side Carve-out services
Recent, relevant experience in delivering international change in operations;
A recent track record of successfully leading teams & delivering major transformational assignments at pre and post deal;
Extensive experience and understanding of the private equity lifecycle with relevant network;
Experience in operational KPIs, Balance Score Cards, and a reporting/ review process to ensure continuous improvement of the operational performance of the business;
Lead holistic performance improvement projects, understanding different kinds of Project Management Office (PMO) tools and change management methodologies
Resolving complex operational and financial problems including implementing cost reductions and operational improvements
Fluency to a native level in both written and verbal English and German is essential.
