Team Profile:

Alvarez & Marsal’s BTS team works with healthy and distressed middle market PE firms as well as with mid to large cap companies with growth aspirations and profitability / efficiency related challenges.

The team works as a Partner to develop and execute restructuring plans. It provides liquidity assessment, business plan evaluation, creditworthiness assessment, & stakeholder negotiation services to clients. The BTS team helps clients effect positive change, manage risk and unlock value. BTS also offers detailed due diligence, Growth strategy Formulation, liquidity management, business plan development, investment / market entry solutions, revenue enhancement solutions, supply chain & operations improvement, and digital transformation.

Alvarez & Marsal’s Business Transformation Service (BTS) works with mid to large cap private equity fund in India and marquee corporate clients on commercial due diligence, strategy formulation and performance improvement engagements. The practice specializes in multiple industries such as Transportation & Logistics, Infrastructure, Consumer, Retail, Food & Agri and Consumer Tech, Healthcare and Financial Services.

The BTS team at Alvarez & Marsal consists of highly trained and experienced professionals. A&M also specializes in M&A capabilities to deliver projects in the pre-deal and post-deal space.

Job Roles & Responsibilities:

Responsibilities

  • Facilitating and being the ‘node’ for Marketing, Business Development and Relationship Management with leading Investment Banks/Investment Bankers.
  • Developing plans and strategies specific to each of the selected IB firms to develop a healthy sales pipeline for projects such as vendor-side commercial due diligence, vendor-side financial due diligence, and carve-out/divestiture support.
  • Driving the Investment Banking Marketing and Client Relationship Program by leveraging key relationships existing within the firm and other contacts, tracking opportunities and driving actions to convert them into projects/wins for the firm.
  • Providing research support to identify potential project opportunities for the firm.
  • Identifying opportunities where A&M can add value by tracking relevant developments/news across industries and select companies.
  • Developing content to support client meetings and exploratory conversations, leveraging the expertise of colleagues in India and global offices.
  • Gradually work towards building their own network, developing, driving and maintaining working relationships with key investment bankers and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Program managing key activities required to develop and grow the Investment Banker relationships.
  • Evaluate/identify any cross-sell opportunities for other practices within the firm.

Stakeholder Management

  • Adept at building strong working relationships with mid level stakeholders, including influence, advice and support to key decision makers.
  • Earn stakeholders’ trust by displaying superior work ethics with utmost importance on client confidentiality.
  • Good understanding of business development, and how to build and maintain a network.

Communication and Soft skills

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience of delivering high-quality reports and presentations.
  • Engage audience by responding effectively & succinctly.
  • Strong commercial orientation.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Strong ability to research, analyze and communicate key commercial value drivers.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint is a must; Knowledge of Salesforce or any other CRM is an added advantage.
  • Strong levels of ownership and should demonstrate pride in output.
  • Must be a value-driven individual with a high degree of integrity.
