The Team

Our Insight Center is the rapidly growing global research and benchmarking arm of A&M. Its mission is to provide our professionals and our client executives with highly relevant, industry specific, fact-based insights derived through our proprietary benchmark and research studies. A&M’s Insight Center supports client work and business development projects with an ever-growing toolbox of products, including custom benchmarking and research studies and targeted subscriptions and resources. The team considers research both a science and an art, and as such is committed to developing high-quality, unique and insightful deliverables to support stakeholders.

The Role and Responsibilities
A&M’s Insight Center is looking for a Senior Research Analyst to join our growing team in the London office. Your role involves working directly with client facing staff to deliver financial benchmarking, market and industry research, company research as well as macro-economic research and analysis. This research supports thought leadership, business development and on occasion in-depth client work.

This role requires the keen ability to multi-task in order to deliver a wide range of research requests, manage research pipelines for yourself and other third-party research providers that we use, help with research product evaluations and train staff on research techniques and best practice. You will fulfill a wide range of varied research requests by interacting directly with A&M stakeholders from all divisions and across all levels - from Analysts to Managing Directors. You will engage in the full life-cycle of the request from the scoping phase to delivering the final output. Building and Managing relationships with key stakeholders will be an important part of the role too.

These requests will include, but are not limited to the following examples:

  • Analysing country and company data, commodity pricing, and other variables to provide detailed financial and industry insight for “Points of View” documents that are used to deliver content for A&M clients about their current and future market position
  • Providing data on various operational benchmarks, company strategy, and company insights
  • Create and support “watchlists” to help various teams with their business development activities
  • Conducting financial analysis on a range of companies to understand their financial health

In addition, you will:

  • Help manage the research request pipeline through
  • Collaborate with the team to prioritise, coordinate and project manage research requests that are sent to our third-party research partners
  • Promote the Insight Center and provide education on how to leverage and engage with the Insight Center
  • Work collaboratively with counterparts in the global Insight Center team to drive a “one-firm” approach to research.
  • Have a Positive and “Let’s Get it Done” attitude; willing to pitch in where needed

Who You Are

You’re a self-starter and problem solver that loves variety at work. You enjoy collaborating with other Insight Center team members from our USA and European offices. When faced with challenges to solve, you dive in and think creatively to find great solutions to research-based questions. You have a good understanding of financial metrics and are comfortable with numbers, you are experienced in finding industry research, managing a pipeline of requests, but importantly you have a flair for customer service.

The Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
  • Related work experience in a similar role (Senior Analyst vs Analyst depending on prior experience)
  • Excellent research experience in a similar role with a professional services, consulting firm or other financial organisation
  • Good project management skills, able to manage a research request pipeline, and multi-task
  • Strong experience of research databases such as Bloomberg, Eikon, Capital IQ, Factiva, Gartner, APQC, Orbis
  • Demonstrable financial research, financial analysis, and financial markets/trends knowledge
  • Outstanding customer relationship management skills, able to manage expectations, delivery timescales, and agree outputs
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office (particular ability with PPT presentations and Pivot Tables in Excel) desirable
