Working student Alvarez & Marsal (“A&M”)

Practice: M&A (Mergers & Acquisitions) or Real Estate Tax

Location: WTC, Amsterdam

Since inception, the global tax team at A&M has enjoyed exponential growth. Our team has grown to over 800 professionals across the globe and we are now looking to further continue this growth in the Netherlands. 

The tax team in Amsterdam works closely together with all the A&M service lines including the Benelux Transaction Advisory Group. A&M’s Global Transaction Advisory Group is the largest transaction advisory practice outside the Big 4 audit firms. The global practice is a fully integrated cross border team delivering on in-country, pan European and Global projects to leading Private Equity clients, Financial Institutions and Corporates.  We are completely free from audit conflicts.

We are currently looking for ambitious working students who want to gain experience in a growing M&A Tax and Real Estate Tax practice. As a working student you will work directly with the Managing Directors who lead the team, and you will also be mentored by the other tax professionals in the group.

As part of the Tax team the successful individual will work on a variety of live client projects and assist with tasks such as:

  • Preparation of proposals and pitch decks for prospects;

  • Performing due diligence on targets for both potential buyers and sellers;

  • Assessing and preparing tax clauses in (share) purchase agreements;

  • Preparing (transaction) structuring reports;

  • Assessing management participation plans;

  • Involved in post-closing activities;

  • Other (general) tax advisory services.

Requirements:

  • Masters student in Tax Law or Tax Economics

  • Interested in M&A Tax and/or Real Estate Tax

  • Excellent verbal and written communication in Dutch and English

  • A real team player with an entrepreneurial mindset

  • Proficient in Excel, Word and PowerPoint

If successful, you will be part of a growing Tax team full of dynamic and entrepreneurial people.
