ESG Advisory Services (part of Global Transaction Advisory Group, TAG): holistic range of services along the entire private equity investment lifecycle
A&M's ESG Advisory Services practice supports private equity general partners and (portfolio) companies as they look to mitigate ESG-related risk and drive improved valuation, return on investment and other tangible uplift. We offer a holistic range of ESG services at all stages of a company’s lifecycle, from private equity and transactions to steady-state company initiatives. We do so in providing an integrated delivery model jointly with our Global Transaction Advisory Group (TAG) and the Private Equity Performance Improvement (PEPI) team.
Our services include, buy- and sell-side ESG due diligence, private equity and portfolio company ESG strategy & performance advisory on matters such as strategy, risk identification and mitigation, value creation potential and disclosure around issues such as climate resilience & decarbonisation, supply chain, social challenges relating to both the workforce and wider society. For example, we conduct impact assessments of climate risks onto the business strategy and revenue drivers, and in turn advise on measures to improve climate resilience and strategic adjustments (incl. 100/ 200 day plans and performance improvement programs).
We are looking for a Senior Consultant, full-time, for our Sydney or Melbourne office. Employees are rewarded for their contribution to growing both TAG and A&M and our bonus system is well known for both its fairness and generosity.
Role and responsibilities
As part of the ESG Advisory Services practice, you will have the opportunity to:
Work on a variety of ESG Transaction Advisory and ESG Performance Improvement engagements, working closely with our Managing Directors and senior ESG professionals with hands-on coaching and training
Gain experience across a variety of global and Australian PE houses as well as corporate clients (including portfolio companies) providing a broad industry exposure and understanding of how different businesses are impacted by ESG risks & opportunities
Contribute to the delivery of buy- and sell-side ESG due diligence, including analysis of the maturity and performance of PE targets’ ESG programs to manage risks and opportunities in relation to key ESG issues, and how they compare to peers and industry best practice
Support engagement managers in ESG advisory services, such as peer benchmarking, materiality assessments, maturity & performance evaluation, gap analyses against sustainability reporting standards, or strategy development & program implementation
Assist in business development, client engagement and sales activities (preparation & participation)

Skills and qualifications
Proven experience in audit, management consulting and/ or due diligence – at a Big 4 or MBB firm (at least 2 years)
Passion for (and preferably experience with) private equity/ asset management and its role in financing the green transition & ESG in general
Fundamental knowledge and familiarity with ESG industry standards (such as GRI, SASB, ISSB, CSRD/ ESRS, TCFD, TNFD, SFDR, GFANZ…)
High proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint
Strong oral and written communication skills and ways of interreacting with clients
Chartered Accountant/ CPA or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) is a strong plus
