The Team

Within A&M, a specialist team is being assembled in EMEA to provide Quantum, Delay and Technical Expert Witness advisory services to the Construction industry. Our newly created Construction Disputes team will support clients and work with law firms to provide expert advisory and expert support in construction claims and dispute matters.

Building on our reputation for high quality work in a non-Audit environment and an approach characterised by a high level of objectivity, diligence, and intensive analysis, our Construction Disputes team benefits from the backing of our global Disputes & Investigations team and close collaboration with our highly successful Turnaround and Restructuring teams. We are uniquely placed to provide end to end support the Construction industry on every aspect of a Dispute.

The Role and Responsibilities

We are looking for Technical Experts in Dubai or Abu Dhabi to work major Engineering and Construction Disputes projects across EMEA from the following backgrounds:

  • Architecture
  • Structural Engineering
  • Civil Engineering
  • Mechanical and Electrical Engineering
  • Fire Engineering

You will provide expert witness services in the field of Construction and Engineering Disputes and play a key part in the further development of the practice. For those at a senior level, there is an emphasis on thought leadership as well as practice and business development.

The Requirements

You must have more than ten years industry experience, with experience of large-scale complex construction disputes. You will have experience as an expert witness, writing independent reports and, preferably, recent testifying experience on construction/engineering disputes.

For those less experienced, a keen interest in becoming an expert witness, writing independent reports on construction/engineering disputes. You will have good technical knowledge and a broad experience across a range of construction/engineering projects and forms of contract. Working knowledge of engineering software packages and advancements in construction technology is advantageous.

Additionally, you must be:

  • a high-grade bachelor’s degree (or equivalent/higher) from an accredited top-tier university in your specialist discipline.
  • at least 10 years of industry experience, with experience of large-scale complex construction disputes is essential
  • a member of your chartered body
  • highly analytical and known for your attention to detail
  • A skilled communicator (written and verbal) with exceptional report writing skills; fluency in English is essential. Arabic language skills are desirable.
  • IT proficient – Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills are essential
  • willingness to travel to client sites across Middle East and beyond, at short notice as part of the working week
  • high integrity that is characterised by the ability to deliver messages even when they are difficult to hear.
