About A&M Momentum

Momentum is the latest offering from A&M Digital and Technology Services (DTS) and provides cutting-edge digital services to clients. Momentum will work on client site as the digital & technology delivery arm of A&M to provide tailored solutions to meet the unique needs of our clients. Momentum will be an integral part of A&M offering and is expected to be a catalyst for the further expansion of the Digital and Technology Service line.

The A&M Momentum data team will work with other A&M teams, developing prototypes that the clients can use on an ongoing basis, feeding data from source systems, and providing business intelligence and operational insight that they can use to deliver and sustain business value.

Our Data services include Data Driven Performance and operational improvement (Board reporting, management reporting, Operational reporting), Procurement analysis, working capital analysis, profitability analysis, P&L analysis, HR/Org analysis, Machine learning and generative AI.

Due to Momentum’s success and recent growth, we are looking for an experienced Data Analytics professional to lead in delivering large, complex, client engagements. This is a fantastic opportunity to manage an innovative team who are applying state-of-the-art analytics to real world business challenges.  The ideal candidate would possess a strong passion for Data and reflect the operational distinctiveness that is A&M; a business savvy, outcome focused entrepreneur who is driven to making an impact, determined to make a difference and not afraid to challenge the status-quo.

This role will be based in Ireland (Dublin or Belfast) with hybrid working policies, and some ad-hoc requirements for client visits in the UK and continental Europe. In this role you will have the opportunity to work on many exciting European and Global projects enabling our clients to positively change their businesses and enhance their performance.

Key day to day responsibilities

  • The successful candidate will lead and manage a team of data analytics professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and mentorship, whilst ensuring high-quality client deliverables and deadlines are met.
  • This will be a key leadership role to support the build-out of the Momentum data team, where it will be required to build strong and effective relationships with internal business leaders. 
  • The Data Analytics Principal Consultant will oversee the team combining different tools and technologies to develop end-to-end analytical solutions that address our clients’ business challenges as well as helping shape and develop proof of concepts or accelerators which can be used to speed up time to insight on our client projects.
  • This role will provide oversight on the development and enhancement of A&M’s data accelerators.
  • To be successful in this role it is expected the candidate will have had previous experience in managing high performing teams, supported day-to-day performance optimisation, and delivered strategic initiatives.
  • The successful candidate will be an analytics visionary staying up to date with developments in the field of Data Analytics.

Must have (technical skills)

  • Experience developing and understanding complex data models, including source ERP data models across multiple ERPs.
  • Experience creating and supporting complex ETL/ELT processes
  • Experience in SQL Warehouses / Azure Synapse and T-SQL skills

Experience developing and maintaining Azure Data Factory and/or Synapse pipelines

Must have (soft skills)

  • A collaborative spirit and the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively to business stakeholders.
  • Curiosity to understand business context and business issues.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work to tight deadlines 
  • Experience in delivering data projects across multiple business disciplines and business types
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication skills when working with both business and technical teams.
  • Experience in leading project teams and executing project work plans

Nice to have

  • Azure DP900 or ideally Azure DP203 – and over 2 years hands-on experience in the areas covered in the certification
  • Strong academic record, with a degree in Engineering, Science or Data related topics.
  • Experience developing visualisations in PowerBI (leveraging a warehouse backend, not just as a desktop tool) 
  • Experience in MDM and Data Governance
  • Experience with data cataloging and linage tools.Experience in PowerBI and Microsoft PL300 certification
  • Experience working in a consulting environment
  • Strong Microsoft excel and Powerpoint skills
  • Financial experience and/or qualifications e.g. ACA, CIMA, ACCA, CFA
  • Experience with predictive modelling, machine learning and AI techniques 
  • Experience in Alteryx or other low code tools 
  • Experience with RPA, OCR and web scraping 
  • Experience with Machine Learning tools (e.g., Sagemaker, Azure Machine learning)  
  • Fluency in one or more European languages,
  • Programming skills in at least one of the following languages: R, Python (and PySpark)
  • Irish or dual UK–EU country nationality (or work permit) allowing work both in the UK and EU
