Overview: Alvarez & Marsal is seeking a dynamic and experienced ESG Senior Associate with a specialized focus on Financial Services. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in shaping and implementing Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) strategies for financial services clients. The successful candidate will be well-versed in ESG frameworks and practices within the financial sector.

Responsibilities:

  • Team Up on ESG Initiative Development: Work closely with financial services clients to develop and implement customized ESG initiatives, ensuring alignment with industry standards in collaboration with the team and the ESG business head, and adhering to best practices.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including financial institutions, regulators, and industry partners.
  • ESG Reporting and Disclosure: Facilitate the creation of ESG reports, ensuring compliance with financial industry standards and transparent communication of performance.
  • Compliance Awareness: Stay informed about ESG regulations and standards specific to the financial sector, ensuring clients' compliance and mitigating risks. Risk Management: Assist in assessing and managing ESG-related risks for financial services clients, collaborating with relevant departments.
  • Client Advisory: Provide expert and supportive ESG advice to financial services clients, addressing their unique challenges and opportunities.
  • Metrics and Performance Monitoring: Assist in establishing and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) related to ESG goals, providing regular updates on client performance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Finance, Sustainability, Environmental Studies).
  • Extensive experience in ESG roles within the financial services sector, demonstrating successful delivery and implementation.
  • In-depth knowledge of ESG frameworks and reporting standards specific to financial services.
  • Strong understanding of environmental, social, and governance issues within the financial sector.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Professional certifications related to ESG.
  • Familiarity with sustainable finance practices in the financial services sector.
