We provide tax, turnaround management, restructuring, performance improvement, corporate and partnership advisory services. We’re currently hiring for our Core Tax team. This team specializes in assisting multinational enterprises with tax planning, consulting, and compliance. Due to our tremendous growth, we're seeking a Manager to join our team.

What Will You Be Doing?

As a Manager you will be:

  • Managing U.S. tax compliance projects for domestic and multinational corporations, pass-through entities and private equity portfolio companies.
  • Managing tax provision preparation projects under ASC 740 for both private entities and SEC registrants.
  • Assisting with complex transaction tax-planning for corporate and pass-through entity clients.
  • Advising clients on tax accounting aspects of complex transactions, including IPO readiness, acquisitions, corporate restructurings, restatements, and post-bankruptcy fresh start accounting.
  • Leading special projects in specific technical areas such as tax basis balance sheets, valuation allowance, accounting for uncertain tax positions, indefinitely reinvested earnings assertion, outside basis differences, share-based payments, and structuring opportunities.
  • Conducting day-to-day management of accounts to ensure delivery of timely and accurate work product.
  • Supervising, developing, mentoring, and motivating our Associates and Senior Associates by actively participating in their advancement through on-the-job training, providing performance feedback, counseling, and fostering our team-based atmosphere.
  • Managing workload and deadlines for Associates and Senior Associates with a focus on quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of the project team.
  • Building client relationships and demonstrating a working knowledge of client businesses; with the opportunity to assume additional responsibility quickly.
  • Assisting with business development, including add-on work by creating business development resources and proposal materials.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or a Juris Doctorate (JD), Master of Laws (LLM), or Master's degree in Accounting or Taxation.
  • CPA or Licensed Attorney (any state) required.
  • 4+ years’ experience in a tax specialty relevant to the role (Federal Corporate Tax, International Tax, or Federal Partnerships).
  • Strong knowledge in US GAAP, tax compliance, corporate consolidated returns, and combined state tax returns.
  • Experience with tax accounting for income taxes (ASC 740), corporate tax compliance, and pass-through entity taxation.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills with the ability to articulate complex tax concepts, establish credibility, and influence clients.
  • Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Advanced user of all Microsoft Office products (with an emphasis on Excel).
  • Experience with tax software such as OneSource Income Tax, OneSource Tax Provision, GoSystems, and research software preferred.
  • Ability to simultaneously work on several projects and effectively manage deadlines.
  • High motivation to learn and grow.
  • Detail-oriented and possess strong organizational skills.

Regular employees working 30 or more hours per week are also entitled to participate in Alvarez & Marsal Holdings’ fringe benefits consisting of healthcare plans, flexible spending and savings accounts, life, AD&D, and disability coverages at rates determined from time to time as well as a 401(k) retirement plan. Provided the eligibility requirements are met, employees will also receive a discretionary contribution to their 401(k) from Alvarez & Marsal. Additionally, employees are eligible for paid time off including vacation, personal days, seventy-two (72) hours of sick time (prorated for part time employees), ten federal holidays, one floating holiday, and parental leave. Compensation Statement

The salary range is $105,000 - $130,000 annually, dependent on several variables including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography. In addition, A&M offers a discretionary bonus program which is based on a number of factors, including individual and firm performance.  Please ask your recruiter for details.
