Position Overview
We are seeking a Benefits Director to join our Human Resources department in Tampa, FL. This role is responsible for directing the design, development, implementation, administration, and communication of all U.S. and Canada self-insured benefit programs and ensuring legal compliance. This person is also responsible for researching new and/or improved cost-effective employee benefit plans that support the company’s needs and business objectives. This position reports directly to the Chief Human Resources Officer.
 
Responsibilities:

  • Manage benefits personnel consisting of several team members across the U.S.
  • Maintain working knowledge of various government requirements, programs and mandates and analyze impact on design and administration.
  • Recommends plan design changes based on industry trends, corporate strategy, and the changing regulatory environment.
  • Oversee the preparation of all governmental compliance reporting, i.e., 5500s, 1094/1095s, etc.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with all benefits consultants, brokers, and vendor partners.
  • Manage benefit plan vendors and third-party providers to ensure optimal service delivery at most efficient cost for employees and/or A&M.
  • Support identification and management of selection of vendors; assist with vendor negotiations and contract development.
  • Manage strategic initiatives, design, compliance and administration of 401k and retirement programs
  • Track benefits spend, analyze trends, and ensure proper inputs for annual budgeting process.
  • Lead the team on all facets of annual benefits open enrollment process.
  • Develops and maintains overall benefits communication strategy working with internal marketing resources to create new hire orientation materials, ongoing employee communications, annual enrollment communications, etc.
  • Administers and maintains an effective wellness strategy for the company through programs and initiatives intended to benefit the health and well-being of employees.
  • Back up and support all other benefit program administration as needed.


Qualifications:

  • 10+ years benefits experience preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience coaching, developing, and leading a team
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field.
  • Experience and understanding of a self-insured funding model for health and welfare plans.
  • Proven success at developing, designing, implementing, and managing benefit programs.
  • Strong customer/employee and vendor relations skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to think strategically and operationalize/act tactically.
  • Must be self-motivated, adaptable, and resilient.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with Payroll, Finance, HRIS and HR contacts.
  • CEBS certification a plus
  • Workday experience desirable

The salary range is $170,000 - $180,000 annually, dependent on several variables including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography. In addition, A&M offers a discretionary bonus program which is based on a number of factors, including individual and firm performance.  Please ask your recruiter for details.
