Our R&C team works with financial institutions to look for new ways to unlock and create value in their business whilst navigating the implications of the changing world. Our professionals’ ability to effectively evaluate complex issues quickly, ranging from new regulations, risk, compliance, capital and liquidity and the wide range of conduct issues, allows us to develop effective, practical solutions in a timely and successful manner. A&M has assembled the right team at the right time, with proven professionals who bring interdisciplinary expertise and much needed tactical and strategic skills, to help financial institutions address these challenging times, as well as prepare to minimize economic and regulatory challenges.

Responsibilities:

You will support the delivery of R&C advisory projects within FSI, where the R&C perspective is central to a business-critical judgement. Assignments will range from advising on compliance strategy, implementing new regulation, and the transformation of systems, process and policies, through to helping clients remediate regulatory findings or manage regulatory inquisition. To this effectively, you will need to:

  • Keep constantly on top of any compliance and regulatory changes and advise clients accordingly
  • Interpret regulation and present it in a clear and meaningful way, including how this could impact strategy, revenue streams or wider business issues
  • Work closely with senior stakeholders in the client’s business and with professionals from leading financial institutions
  • Be an action-oriented self-starter with strong analytical skills and entrepreneurial flair
  • Be comfortable working independently as well as in a high performing team

In joining a growing business, you will have the opportunity be involved in business development activities and will join the team meetings where WIP, project pipeline, resourcing, marketing and business development initiatives are discussed. You will be actively involved in these discussions and be an integrated part of the FSI team.

Requirements:

  • First practical experience in a consulting environment (e.g. Big 4) with a focus on banks or insurance companies
  • Demonstrate prior experience dealing with compliance-relevant legislation, Anti-Money-Laundering, Compliance Management Systems (CMS), Capital Market Compliance, Economic Sanctions, Fraud etc.
  • Strong interest in recent or pending regulatory initiatives, e.g. RRD, CRR / CRD IV, MiFIR / MiFID II, EMIR, MAR / MAD II, Solvency II, IMD II, AMLD IV
  • Showcase excellent writing and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex regulatory matters in easy-to-understand language for diverse audiences
  • Possess the ability to think critically to provide efficient and effective solutions to complex regulatory issues
  • Ideally, have experience with audit techniques and general project management skills
  • Successfully completed studies in economics, law, business law or a comparable field of study - also in combination with banking or insurance training or as a career changer from another field of study
  • Native proficiency in German and business-fluent English, with additional European languages being highly desirable
