Role Background

Due to a recent vacancy that has arisen, we require a resource within our Management Information & Reporting team that sits within our EMEA Finance function.  A&M EMEA has numerous office locations and a variety of service lines around Europe, Middle East and Asia and this role is responsible for preparing information and managing data to bring together accurate reporting across the EMEA business. The role reports to the MI&R Manager and will also engage with the Data Analytics Manager, Operations leads and the Director of MIR, who is responsible for managing the EMEA MI&R function.

The EMEA Finance team is a full-service Finance function supporting the needs of the EMEA business and with reporting lines and liaison with the A&M Global Finance team in New York. The team is growing considerably working across Billing, Accounts Payable, Financial Accounting, MI&R, Internal Taxation, Payroll and Risk.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting the MI&R Manager and working alongside another MI&R Data Analysts on all financial management reporting and data analysis for the EMEA businesses
  • Assisting with various monthly close procedures (adhering to global deadlines) including preparation and posting of month-end journals to ensure data integrity supporting our reporting, including Overhead reallocations, MD adjustments, Payroll re-posts, Talent re-charges, sub-contractor checks, space allocation and resource triggers, etc.
  • Preparing monthly reporting dashboards and MI reports, including checking the integrity and calculation of KPIs within those reports
  • Preparation of reporting packs for business units or countries on a periodic (monthly, quarterly) basis or as requested
  • Production of various standard financial reports from our Unit 4 accounting system, such as WIP, AR, Utilisation, Collections, Hours, Realisation, etc. on a periodic basis or as requested.
  • Running various reports and analytic queries for individuals/business units, as requested, including MD Summaries and Project profitability summaries, Project ‘tree’ reports, etc.
  • Preparing financial summaries and analyses as requested on and ad hoc basis for Finance senior management, including the EMEA CFO  
  • Downloading, consolidating, and analyzing GL data (particularly overheads) to resolve queries from business units and/or operational controllers.
  • Production and distribution of monthly Profit & Loss summaries and investigating variance queries
  • Providing supporting data for Payroll reconciliations and investigating compensation queries from time to time
  • Preparation, review and presentation of accurate headcount data, reports and Labour cost rate calculations
  • Work closely within the MI&R team to continue the migration of various standard reports to an online environment in PowerBI
  • Provide data, investigate queries and undertake verification work to support our detailed EMEA compensation review process at year-end (Oct – Dec) including Salary & Benefit allowance data to be integrated into compensation calculations
  • Maintenance of various data summaries (MD1 House Account lists, SBU lists, business unit reporting ‘roll-ups, etc.)
  • Assistance with ad-hoc projects as and when required

Skills and Qualifications

  • A qualified accountant, preferably CIMA or ACCA qualification with experience of working in a similar capacity
  • Previous experience of an international multi-site business with turnover in excess of £50m is preferred
  • A strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel including pivot tables and V-lookups
  • Experience with business object reporting tools (Power Bi, Tableau or similar) would be desirable
  • Professional services experience would be desirable
  • It is essential that the candidate is able to meet deadlines, is results orientated and has a “can do” attitude with strong analytical mindset
  • You will be a natural team player who can interact easily with your colleagues and have strong communication skills
