Business failures, financial frauds and accounting irregularities. These and other events have resulted in regulatory interventions, investigations, financial restatements and a significant number of lawsuits. Dealing with matters of a complex nature requires a broad range of skills and experience and our Disputes & Investigations (“D&I”) team offers Forensic Accounting and Investigations, Dispute Advisory, and Forensic Technology Services.

Within D&I, the Forensic Technology Services (“FTS”) team comprises senior forensic and information security technologists, who bring deep expertise in Computer Science and Information Systems, and offer a hands-on approach to collecting, preserving and analysing electronic information.

Our FTS team is hugely successful, and an opportunity exists for us to grow at Analyst and Associate levels, specifically within the Cayman Islands Disputes and Investigations team.

 

Critical Capabilities

Successful appointees will assist our clients and internal teams by providing eDiscovery support relating to complex issues on a variety of projects involving disputes, white-collar crime investigations, forensic accounting/consulting and post-acquisition disputes. By establishing consultative relationships with our stakeholders, you will guide them toward best practices in eDiscovery.

  • Collaborate with the team to implement efficient workflows, proactively identify and mitigate risk, apply quality control, address technical challenges to make data discoverable, viewable and useful.
  • Accurately and proactively communicate with team members regarding upcoming commitments and deadlines, project status updates and issues or challenges.
  • Maintain consistent communication and coordination with team members to ensure timely completion of tasks, establish project goals, review associated costs, etc.
  • Ensure eDiscovery best practices are followed to ensure the accuracy and reliability of analysis by performing quality control checks.
  • Assist with electronic data discovery collection efforts including digital forensic data collections.
  • Utilize Relativity and similar eDiscovery tools to collaborate and review workflows with the team.
  • Produce consistent and thorough documentation.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and streamlining.

 

Core Qualifications

  • Experience working with databases, knowledge of SQL would be advantageous.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills combined with the ability to synthesize information from disparate sources and draw coherent, well-evidenced conclusions.
  • Excellent organisational skills, managing and prioritizing multiple tasks and projects while meeting deadlines.
  • Understanding of standard eDiscovery methodology and best practices.
  • Technical understanding of the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM).
  • Experience with basic Relativity administrative functions.
  • Fast learner, eager to learn new technologies in a fast-paced, challenging and uncertain environment.
  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills in addition to well-developed organisation skills.
  • Training and/or certifications from industry organizations or vendors (i.e. Relativity, Reveal, Nuix) and/or other relevant professional certifications would be advantageous.
  • Flexibility to travel.
