Our Paris based Financial & Operational Restructuring practice (FOR) is lead by two highly experienced & established Managing Directors and the team have earned an exceptional reputation for excellent work. They are highly active in France & across Europe and due to continued growth we are recruiting a talented individual to join this expanding team at Director level. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to build a career in advisory with the leading global name in Restructuring.

We welcome applications from individuals currently pursuing careers in Big 4 firms or boutique advisory / strategy houses who are looking to develop their career in Restructuring at a fast pace by working for an independent specialist firm with a global reputation.
 

As part of a select and highly skilled team you will have the opportunity to; 

  • Work closely with our Managing Directors in France and across Europe on business development activities including thought leadership, proposals, pitches and networking
  • Support our Managing Directors to lead and develop the French Financial & Operational Restructuring team (FOR), including recruiting, training and coaching team members
  • Develop trusted relationships with key stakeholders in the French and European Restructuring community through the delivery of value-added client engagements
  • Advise companies, investors, lenders or any other stakeholders facing distressed situations; assess Group-level financial & operational performance in addition to the financial viability of subsidiary companies
  • Conduct Independent Business Reviews, Initial diagnostic assessment of liquidity, key business issues and outlook, appraisal of options & contingency planning and cash flow assessments
  • Evaluate business plans and financial projections, including assessments of risks and opportunities - contribute to performance monitoring following business plan implementation

The person:

  • Extensive experience within a Financial Restructuring team at a leading advisory firm
  • The ability to demonstrate experience delivering complex restructuring projects including independent business reviews, short term cash flow assessments, capital structure analysis and lender restructuring options analysis
  • Broad ranging experience in leading complex restructuring engagements combined with well-developed stakeholder management skills
  • Demonstrated expertise and aptitude with conducting quantitative and qualitative analyses, particularly with constructing integrated financial models, analysing financial under-performance and related services
  • Fluent business level English and French is essential. Additional European language skills are highly desirable
  • A high grade Bachelor’s degree from a top “Grande Ecole” university

A successful Restructuring Director will be experienced in addressing businesses critical issues at speed and will reflect the operational distinctiveness that is A&M; a business savvy, outcome focused business entrepreneur who is addicted to making an impact, determined to make a difference and not afraid to challenge the status-quo.

In addition, the successful candidate will also possess excellent negotiating skills, gained in a restructuring advisory environment, whether in the context of negotiating with banks, closure of an entity/divestment of assets or dealing with management teams or trade unions. The ability to engage with ambitious deadlines under possible ambiguity is key, whilst mobilising one’s self and the team towards productive outcomes.

Ideally, a Director will be able to successfully identify client needs and win client trust. Ultimately, the successful appointee will be recognised by the client as the lead for value contributed on engagements and therefore build his/her own credible network of contacts and referral sources with clients, professionals and institutions.
