Senior Associate (Construction Disputes), Disputes and Investigations

What will you be doing?
You will be working on construction project advisory mandates for law firms and corporates advising on matters related to project planning, project controls, project claims and disputes, project delays, and productivity. You will provide support to global teams on major infrastructure, building, transportation, mining, and energy projects, collaborating with forensic cost accountants, engineers, project managers and quantum experts.
You will be working closely with a team to resolve complex matters that pose a threat or disruption to normal operations for our clients. You will support incisive project delay investigations, create forensic analysis, and provide litigation support.
You will be helping our clients and their counsel understand and resolve the financial impacts of their legal matters relating to projects in distress, and projects that require turnaround, schedule acceleration or performance improvement efforts. You will develop and communicate your analyses, findings, and insights to your team. Relying on your initiative and flexibility to deliver results in an agile and collaborative team environment, you will build strong relationships with clients, legal counsel, and expert witnesses internally and externally. Some of the main responsibilities are:
- Assisting with compiling, analyzing and assessing claims and disputes on major construction projects.
- Contributing to the updating of complex financial models and performance improvement reports for major infrastructure projects
- Reviewing major projects and working with the team to produce independent third-party advice and oversight or health-check reports
- Assisting with engagement management, document management, record keeping, and drafting of reports and other client deliverables
- Performing quality control review of schedule and project control reports related to dispute advisory mandates
- Assisting with researching technical and industry specific issues around project controls, project cost management and project scheduling

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
- Working towards, or completion of Professional Engineer (P.Eng, PE) and or Quantity Surveyor
- 3-7 years of experience in construction, engineering, and or infrastructure project management
- Some consulting experience with infrastructure, project management, or engineering firms is ideal
- Analytics skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and PowerPoint. MS Azure would be a plus.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Foreign-language skills, ideally Spanish
- Effective interpersonal skills - good team player with the ability to work under pressure
- Ability and willingness to maintain a flexible work schedule in order to meet client needs
The position will be hybrid and require the individual to be part time in physical office and remote.
