Our practice in Greece is an established part of A&M and our MD leadership team is a collection of highly experienced professionals across Financial and Operational Restructuring, Performance Improvement and Disputes & Investigations. They are supported by an exceptional team drawn from industry and professional services. 

Due to client requirements, our practice in Greece is growing and we are actively seeking high performers at senior associate level to work on a range of projects across Restructuring& Performance Improvement.

A&M Greece work with clients to:

  • Drive revenue and EBITDA growth through Operational Transformation & Performance Improvement and Financial and Operational Restructuring
  • Accelerate innovation through Business Process Improvement, Supply network optimisation / Sales & operations planning including improvements in Logistics & Distribution
  • Increase profitability through the creation and implementation of performance improvement plans and cost transformation including zero based budgeting 
  • Improve cash flow through price and profit maximization, working capital improvement, inventory and supply chain processes and capital expenditure controls
  • Increase overhead efficiency through shared services alignment and process improvements across Human Resources, Procurement, Finance, IT, and other critical business support functions
  • Lead and/or support business transformation as interim senior management, post-merger integration execution, scenario planning, and through organisational and operating model redesign. 

The Role 

This is a unique opportunity to join an established & growing business and play an instrumental role in delivering a range of impactful projects to clients. Alvarez and Marsal drive sustained restructuring & performance improvement initiatives at a scale and pace that conventional consultancies cannot match. We work with clients in restructuring & strategic transformation situations when companies are looking to sustainably improve earnings & profitability. We also help our clients navigate complex mergers and acquisitions, carve-outs, bolt-ons and divestitures. We work with national & international companies, Banks and Global and European private equity houses and their portfolio companies. 

We are looking for an experienced professional to work in complex client engagements and use his/her corporate transformation and performance improvement skills to enable our clients positively changing their businesses and enhancing their performance.

Requirements include:

Academic and languages:

  • Strong academic track record to date combined with c.6-7 years of work experience in a leading consulting firm, industry or an audit firm 
  • CFA Charter, CFA Program candidacy, or any other Accounting certification would be strongly considered an asset 
  • Native Greek in additional to fluent English is essential and other European languages are highly desirable 

 

Professional experience in the following:

  • Experience in finance-related engagements, including finance transformation (including leveraging technology and automation/RPA), in-house finance, working capital optimisation, short-term cash flow
  • Experience in SG&A-related engagements, including organisation & processes, zero-based cost review, cost accounting
  • Experience in supporting Target Operating Model (TOM) engagements, including Shared Services /Global Business Services, organisational design (across the value chain and by function), redundancy programme execution
  • Experience in Optimization of Financial Reporting Processes, including among others preparation of financial packages on a recurring basis, compilation of standalone and consolidated accounts (Greek GAAP, IFRS), CFO support on the treatment of complex accounting transactions (e.g. carve-outs, spin-offs) etc.
  • Experience in the Creation of Business Blueprints for the Implementation of ERPs
  • Experience in set-up and implementation of Management Reporting Tools/Reports
  • Experience in business process improvement projects
  • Experience in Project Management Office (PMO) engagements

 

Other skills: 

  • Well-developed analytical skills combined with strong financial modelling/analysis & presentation-building skills. Advanced proficiency utilizing Excel and PowerPoint
  • Well-developed ability to structure data in a way to draw conclusions and support timely decision making with our clients
  • Able to function well under pressure and work independently while understanding when to ask for guidance
