What we do

 

The Performance Improvement Practice works with Private Equity and Corporate clients in Singapore and all over the world. Our areas of expertise include pre-M&A due diligence, merger integration, post-M&A growth strategy, corporate finance advisory, organizational and cost transformation, supply chain digitization and manufacturing operational improvement, interim and crisis management, and CFO finance leadership. We differentiate ourselves by the result-driven approach, the hands-on mindset, and the ability to provide leadership amidst complex situations.

 

A&M is rapidly expanding in Southeast Asia and seeking to hire Directors with significant industry experience specializing in manufacturing. We operate across multiple industries including but not limited to precision manufacturing, semiconductors, automotive, consumer packaged goods, food processing, apparel manufacturing, etc.

 

Directors will lead consulting and delivery of projects on important client challenges in areas such as:

  • Manufacturing footprint and capacity optimization
  • Manufacturing process optimization
  • Relocation of manufacturing facilities or capacities
  • Industry 4.0 and digitization 
  • Manufacturing efficiency and flexibility improvement (Lean)
  • Operational Due Diligence

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Swiftly identifying and resolving root causes of client issues while understanding the importance of urgency and accuracy of redesigning processes and developing solutions to achieve client goals
  • Engaging in c-suite and board level conversations as well as mid management and shop floor regarding the challenges facing clients and strategic and tactical initiatives for solving them
  • Providing guidance to manage a client through crisis and/or quick solutions and time frames
  • Utilizing your experience and expertise to effectively function in interim roles (e.g., Manufacturing Head)
  • Carry out effective operational due diligence pre-transaction, and provide necessary post transaction services (Post Merger Integration, Carve Out, 100-day planning)
  • Lead enterprise-wide business transformation and/or cost reduction programs to deliver performance improvement
  • Realign the performance through supply chain operational restructuring to directly improve the earnings and cashflow within the business
  • Effectively managing client project plans and teams including meeting deadlines and managing on time deliverables
  • Managing performance of project teams, including assigning and delegating project responsibilities and providing on-the-job coaching and constructive feedback
  • Improving client tracking tools and developing KPIs and metrics to identify and quantify quality and operational performance improvement opportunities
  • Developing transition and hand off plans to ensure that improvements are sustainable
  • Acting as integral member of sales team developing significant portions of proposal and pitch documents
  • Building relationships with clients and seeking opportunities to expand the scope of business while generating leads
  • Managing and mentoring junior staff including training and development

 

The successful candidate will bring market leading strategic insight into, possesses deep functional knowledge and insight, a blend of operational and commercial skills and an entrepreneurial approach.

 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Significant experience in industry in a manufacturing environment
  • Some consulting experience within a top tier strategy firm, leading specialist and/or niche advisory firm
  • An understanding of manufacturing processes and global distribution networks, and be able to use innovative technology to resolve problems and implement business solutions
  • Experience in operational KPIs, Balance Score Cards, and a reporting/ review process to ensure continuous improvement of the operational performance of the business
  • Understanding and execution of LEAN production philosophy
  • Leading holistic performance improvement projects, understanding different kinds of Project Management Office (PMO) tools
  • Clear determination to deliver the latest thinking in Supply Chain solutions, including planning and execution tools, within a highly competitive advisory marketplace
  • An appreciation of the challenges that businesses face within the deal environment including leading merger integrations and separations, identifying synergies, outsourcing opportunities and costs
  • Experience in preparing & presenting key business materials including separation playbook, Day 1 models & cut-over plans, post-merger integrations (PMI) and 100-day planning
  • Possess excellent financial & business and/or financial modelling skills. Can conduct an initial rapid diagnostic into the company's immediate and future cash needs, product profitability, cost base and major operational issues
  • Experienced in resolving complex operational and financial problems including implementing cost reductions and operational improvements
  • A consulting toolkit including how to frame a business issue, judiciously find and use internal and external data to test hypotheses and draw conclusions
  • Proven ability to work in international teams and create measurable and identifiable improvements in Supply Chain and Operations
  • MBA or other advanced degree or certification preferred
  • Advanced PowerPoint and Excel modelling skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
  • Fluency in other ASEAN languages (Bahasa Indonesia, Tagalog, Thai or Vietnamese) highly desirable
  • Willingness to travel to client sites, across Southeast Asia or beyond, at short notice as part of the working week
