Our private equity performance improvement “PEPI” practice:

Alvarez and Marsal’s dedicated PEPI professionals work with Investors and their portfolio companies to provide independent analysis and end to end services across the investment life cycle that deliver results in every economic situation.

Whether serving in a performance improvement advisory capacity for an under-performing company or in interim management roles, we draw on a deep operational heritage and proven approaches, such as our proprietary diagnostic – the Rapid Results Program, which helps to quickly and effectively assess business process management risks and identify key areas impeding performance.

Through our PEPI practice, Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) offers assistance to private equity owned portfolio companies that are under-performing or in need of re-organisation and re-positioning. Working directly with company management, A&M's involvement reassures all stakeholders that the company is taking important steps to address its problems and maximise its value.

The DIRECTOR opportunity

A&M's global Private Equity Performance Improvement (PEPI) practice is now at the point in our exciting growth story to hire a Director with focus on Commercial Due Diligence in Amsterdam. We are looking to hire someone who has a successful track record with a blend of commercial skills, an entrepreneurial approach and networks across the M&A community.

A&M seamlessly draws upon the expertise of global, integrated teams of functional and industry professionals to meet clients’ needs. In addition to aligning these core offerings, PEPI frequently partners on client projects with our colleagues from other practices such as Corporate Transformation, Restructuring, Transactions Advisory & Valuations. As such, we have a wide reach of resources from a broad range of sectors who we work with across the various teams and geographies in our business. This collaboration model and senior resource depth is one of the unique qualities that makes us A&M and allow us to take on a wide range of complex situations.

We have local teams and resource globally and specifically within Europe across our Netherlands, UK, Germany, France, Italy and Sweden practices, to name a few. A key objective therefore for our new Director will be to collaborate, integrate and partner with all our PEPI related colleagues and mandates. The successful appointee will work with our Managing Directors and the established team to build further the profile and reputation of the Firm in the Commercial Due Diligence space. Building on the success of the A&M brand, the successful candidate will bring proven leadership experience as well as a strong network of high-level contacts.

Specifically, the Director will:

  • Demonstrate experience in running Commercial Due Diligence in numerous deals, as well as growth strategy projects: deep experience in managing teams and leveraging stakeholder relationships to deliver superior results, ability to find innovative solutions to complex issues.
  • Identify and recognise new project and business opportunities.
  • Oversee client engagements and deliverables, which includes monitoring progress, quality and client interaction.
  • Assist, as part of the senior team, in the development of existing and new service stream methodologies to drive innovation.
  • Support the successful development of client relationships,
  • Promote knowledge sharing within the team and facilitating research and development within the chosen stream.
  • Support recruitment, retention, development, training and motivation of employees.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Hands-on and non-hierarchical individual who relates well at all levels and cultures, in a collegiate, fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills, confident presenter.
  • Fluent knowledge of Dutch and English.
  • Objective, fact-based approach to problem solving.
  • Driven by strong values and integrity, talks straight, builds confidence, and leads by example.
