Position Overview

A&M’s Insight Center (“IC”) is the rapidly growing research and benchmarking arm of Alvarez & Marsal. The mission of A&M’s Insight Center is to provide our global professionals and client executives with highly relevant, industry specific, actionable, fact-based insights derived through our proprietary benchmark and research studies. A&M’s Insight Center supports client work and business development projects with an ever-growing toolbox of products, including custom benchmarking and research studies and targeted subscriptions and resources. The team considers research both a science and an art, and as such is committed to developing high-quality, unique, and insightful deliverables to support stakeholders.  The Insight Center also manages the firm’s research subscription portfolio which includes about 200 subscriptions.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated Insight Center Business Partner (ICBP) to join our Insight Center (IC) team. By working directly with client facing staff, IC Leadership, and the IC research team, you will serve as a project manager and relationship manager helping deliver a range of research services to support thought leadership, business development, and project delivery. This role requires the keen ability to multi-task managing multiple projects with varying timelines. Examples of project work will include both research service delivery to client facing stakeholders and IC proprietary tool development and launch across multiple business units. Candidates should be prepared to help and influence the strategic direction and buildout of the ICBP project manager capability.  

Principal responsibilities

Serve as a relationship manager and primary liaison for the Insight Center and our partners across the firm growing awareness of IC capabilities and expertise

  • Foster relationships and serve as a liaison between A&M’s business units and the IC team to provide insight and status into the BU needs, initiatives, and end-user experience, supporting the growth and evolution of the team; partner with A&M stakeholders from all divisions and across all levels, from Analysts to Managing Directors
  • Build relationships and partner across other A&M Global Enterprise Shared Services to support business units in the achievement of their goals; serve as a connection point between business units and other shared service contacts
  • Increase awareness of IC capabilities and expertise such as research, subscriptions and thought leadership; provide training to new joiner groups and existing employees, as required
  • Engage with internal stakeholders to understand requirements and to identify opportunities to extend IC service offerings to all A&M divisions
  • Have a deep understanding of the support the IC can provide
  • Serve as a key collaborator and facilitator to advance the development/refinement of Insight Center services needed to meet divisional or client needs
  • Collaborate with IC team members to discuss support needs of stakeholders and work together to provide proactive solutions

Serve as a project manager for both internal and external IC research projects

  • Owns ultimate accountability for initiatives being completed on time, on budget, and to specification/requirement
  • Manage relationships between clients and stakeholders both internal and external to ensure seamless execution of project.
  • Lead the initiation and planning of project(s) identifying project goals, objectives and scope; set appropriate expectations across teams, and ensure overall feasibility of project
  • Create and maintain a comprehensive project documentation; develop detailed project plans that outline the tasks, timelines, and resources required. Actively monitor and track the progress of the project
  • Consistently communicate with project team and all stakeholders; schedule regular check-ins to ensure project is on track and exceeding expectations; communicate all project risks and concerns in a professional and timely manner
  • Collect feedback from all parties following project completion and implement lessons learned into future projects; share project successes with greater team, congratulating the team on a job well done

  • Demonstrate a willingness to assist with tasks outside immediate key role requirements for the benefit of overall organizational success

Educational/Technical Qualifications

  • 3-6 years of experience in a corporate environment; experience working at a professional service or consultancy firm
  • Excellent proactive project management and change management skills, able to manage multiple projects, and multi-task
  • Outstanding customer relationship management skills, able to manage expectations, delivery timescales, and agree outputs
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven experience working with professionals of all staff classes up to C-Level
  • Microsoft 365, Salesforce, and SharePoint Online experience preferred

  • Demonstrated self-starter who needs little supervision and is willing to self-teach in new areas of learning

Full-time Positions and Part-time Positions Over 30 hours

Regular employees working 30 or more hours per week are also entitled to participate in Alvarez & Marsal Holdings’ fringe benefits consisting of healthcare plans, flexible spending and savings accounts, life, AD&D, and disability coverages at rates determined from time to time as well as a 401(k) retirement plan. Provided the eligibility requirements are met, employees will also receive a discretionary contribution to their 401(k) from Alvarez & Marsal. Additionally, employees are eligible for paid time off including vacation, personal days, seventy-two (72) hours of sick time (prorated for part time employees), ten federal holidays, one floating holiday, and parental leave. The salary range is $90,000 - $110,000 annually, dependent on several variables including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography. In addition, A&M offers a discretionary bonus program which is based on a number of factors, including individual and firm performance.  Please ask your recruiter for details.
