Overview of the Role
We are currently looking for a Relationship Management Analyst to sit within our Private Equity Services, Relationship Management team here at Alvarez & Marsal Europe, based in London.
Main responsibilities include
- Coordinate commercial processes for the PEPI team in London whilst remaining connected to wider European commercial activities both in PEPI and other business units
- Support and develop outside-in research on companies
- Conduct in-depth company research including general overviews, review of services, competition and industry segments
- Conduct basic financial analysis including profit & loss review, cost trend analysis and benchmarking
- Manage research process, utilising and training a team of interns
- Liaise with senior individuals to get sector-specific insights
- Develop and track market intelligence with a focus on the European market
- Track upcoming M&A activity by monitoring a number of news sources
- Develop external relationships that provide useful market knowledge
- Support the Private Equity key priority account programme (“Targeting Engine”)
- Monitor and evaluate progress of Key Accounts through data consolidation and participate in key account review meetings
- Research trends and latest developments in the market, including Activists and Investments Banks in the market
- Own, maintain and update various information databases
- Act as the central knowledge management function for Private Equity Services
- Own and maintain the go-to-market documents and marketing collateral
- Maintain and update the case study database
- Manage the “Request for Experience” process
- Support A&M teams with external client proposals and pitches
- Support content initiatives and client events within the Private Equity Services Relationship Management programme, including
- Support the planning and execution of client events alongside Marketing
- Support the weekly Business Development / Targeting meetings and providing input to external deal communications
- Support the development of content and gathering of data for industry or functional initiatives
- Act as administrator for Salesforce for Private Equity Services, including
- Maintaining and developing pipeline dashboards/ reports and supporting analysis and interpretation of data
- Keeping a keen eye on Salesforce usage and the opportunity pipeline
- Delivering periodic KPI’s from Salesforce and input into the annual review process
Ideal candidates will have
- Knowledge or previous experience of the Private Equity market would be ideal but is not as essential as a keen and demonstrated interest in learning more about this sector
- Basic financial acumen including understanding of the profit & loss statement, key financial metrics and revenue & expenses trends
- Experience with a CRM system, ideally Salesforce, desirable
- Strong communication and analytical capabilities
- Candidates must possess excellent interpersonal skills, gravitas, and be able to form strong working relationships with senior and more junior members of the team and those of other practices
- Good Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to take ownership of work and work to tight deadlines
- A positive attitude, energetic approach and self-motivation
- Fluent in English (other European languages desirable but not essential)
- University degree
