Job Description:

Alvarez & Marsal is seeking a highly motivated and talented individual to join our Financial Institutions Group (FIG) Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) team as an Intern. This internship provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience and exposure to the dynamic world of financial services M&A consulting.

Key Responsibilities:

Support M&A Due Diligence: Assist in conducting comprehensive due diligence processes for financial institutions considering mergers, acquisitions, or divestitures. Tasks may include financial analysis, market research, and target evaluation. Financial Modeling: Collaborate with senior consultants to develop and maintain financial models to assess the financial impact of potential transactions, including valuation analyses, scenario modeling, and sensitivity analysis. Industry Research: Conduct in-depth research and analysis on trends, regulations, and competitive dynamics within the financial services industry, providing valuable insights to support client engagements. Documentation and Reporting: Assist in preparing client presentations, memoranda, and reports summarizing findings, recommendations, and insights derived from the due diligence and analysis processes. Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with colleagues across different functional areas, including finance, operations, and strategy, to support the development and execution of client engagements.

Professional Development: Actively participate in training sessions, workshops, and networking opportunities to enhance technical skills, industry knowledge, and professional development.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing an Engineering or Master's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
  • Strong academic track record with a demonstrated interest in finance, investment banking, or consulting.
  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills, with proficiency in financial modeling and valuation techniques.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial statements analysis.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly and concisely.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other relevant software applications.
  • Previous internship experience in finance, consulting, or related fields is a plus.
