Global Transaction Advisory Group (TAG) 

 

TAG is a subsidiary of A&M, an established leader in providing global leadership and advisory services to a variety of diverse industries. TAG professionals specialize largely in providing financial and accounting buy-side and sell-side due diligence, capital markets and accounting advisory, global transaction analytics, environmental, technical & sustainability (ETS) and other related M&A services for private equity, hedge funds, sovereign wealth, family office and corporate clients around the world. 

 

Global Transaction Analytics (GTA) 

 

A&M’s Global Transaction Analytics (GTA) practice, within our Transaction Advisory Group, has an exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing team in Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Denver, Houston, Nashville, New York, and San Francisco. We are seeking an Associate to bring their energy, passion, and expertise to help our clients get the answers they need to get the deal done across the investment lifecycle from pre-deal to post-deal analysis. 

 

A&M GTA provides data analytics services to clients to uncover maximum actionable insights to support their M&A, divestment and investment strategy. GTA is a global team which leverages market leading technology, advanced analytics capabilities, and A&M’s operational, functional and industry expertise to drive relevant business insights. Our global team provides analytics as a service to private equity and corporates across the transaction lifecycle. 

 

What will you be doing? 

 
As an Intern, you will have the opportunity to work with our highly motivated and effective team of professionals on a variety of interesting projects across different industries including but not limited to manufacturing, distribution, consumer, retail, restaurants, business and industrial services as well as healthcare, software & technology, energy and financial services. You will gain exposure to our integrated due diligence approach that goes beyond traditional quality of earning analyses and focus on key value drivers for sponsors and lenders. Our integrated due diligence approach combines our deep operational, functional and industry expertise to drive value throughout the investment lifecycle. 

 

Responsibilities include: 

 

  • Assist with core transaction analytics, helping to identify key financial performance and operating trends as well as insights thru applied data analytics. 

  • Analyze underlying financial statement performance drivers via key transactional and operational data.  Clean, transform, and model data into meaningful information used to drive discussions with target management through observations to insights and conclusions. 

  • Assess the quality of the target company’s financial and operational datasets. 

  • After an investigative analysis, assist in the construction of deal-oriented reports and dashboards for clients that highlight the key findings and the drivers behind maintainable profits and cash flows. 

  • Participate in meetings and conference calls with target company management and with client personnel. 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience using large data sets, along with analytical scripting and visualization platforms to produce actionable insights for clients 

  • An interest in data analytics, finance, accounting, and consulting 

  • Eligible students should be in the 3rd year of a 4-year degree program or in the 4th year of a 5-year program 

  • A willingness to learn, or familiarity with, tools for work across data management, visualization, and analytics, including: 

  • Alteryx, SQL, Azure, etc. 

  • Excel, PowerPivot, PowerQuery, VBA, etc. 

  • Tableau, Power BI, etc. 

  • Python, R, etc. 

  • Experience with data science and machine learning algorithms 

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills 

  • Strong project management skills 

  • Flexibility to work as both a team member and as an individual contributor 

  • Ability to thrive and be effective in fast-paced settings 

  • Ability to travel

The hourly rate is $35 per hour.
