Alvarez & Marsal (A&M), a leading independent global professional services firm, specializing in providing turnaround management, performance improvement and advisory services, is seeking a Contracts Paralegal.

This key member of the legal team will assist A&M’s legal counsel in protecting the organization's legal interests and is responsible for drafting, reviewing, and revising contracts dealing primarily with A&M's clients and prospective clients. Prior experience drafting said documents, presenting clear recommendations, and assuring legal compliance is required.  A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected while still adhering to A&M’s standards.

This is a hybrid in-office role based in our Tampa office.  This legal team member will be expected to be in the office at least three days per week, Tuesday through Thursday being preferred.

Responsibilities

The Contracts Paralegal will support A&M’s Legal Department, with the primary responsibility of moving certain A&M contracts through their life cycle from initial form/draft to execution.

Essential Functions:

  • Work with the legal team and firm professionals on various client contracting matters such as non-disclosure agreements, ancillary client-related agreements (e.g., access agreements) and other firm-related agreements (e.g., event and hospitality contracts).
  • Assist with administering the contract management process within the Legal Department.
  • Review and draft agreements to incorporate A&M standards.
  • Drive cross-functional input in the contract process.
  • Provide support to internal A&M counsel.

Other Functions:

  • Perform miscellaneous support tasks within the Legal Department as needed.
  • Undertake special contracts management or related projects of a complex nature upon request.

Qualifications/Experience

  • 2+ of experience in a legal contract related role.
  • Post-Secondary education preferred.
  • Familiarity with legal documents and language, including but not limited to non-disclosure agreements, access letters, and event contracts, including standard provisions found in these agreements.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to drive contract management process.
  • Ability to take initiative and create solutions for substantive and procedural contracting matters.
  • Strong communicator comfortable with negotiation and coordination among senior stakeholders at the firm.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite, experience or familiarity with contract management technology solutions is a plus but not required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and listening skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • High level of judgment/organizational skills and initiative to deal with complex duties.
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask, while working under pressure to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to adapt to constantly shifting priorities and a changing work environment.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and integrity when dealing with sensitive, highly confidential matters.
  • Self-starter with a positive outlook and a desire to solve problems, while working collaboratively with members of the Legal Department and other colleagues across the Firm.

Full-time Positions and Part-time Positions Over 30 hours

Regular employees working 30 or more hours per week are also entitled to participate in Alvarez & Marsal Holdings’ fringe benefits consisting of healthcare plans, flexible spending and savings accounts, life, AD&D, and disability coverages at rates determined from time to time as well as a 401(k) retirement plan. Provided the eligibility requirements are met, employees will also receive a discretionary contribution to their 401(k) from Alvarez & Marsal. Additionally, employees are eligible for paid time off including vacation, personal days, seventy-two (72) hours of sick time (prorated for part time employees), ten federal holidays, one floating holiday, and parental leave. The salary range is $65,000 - $85,000 annually, dependent on several variables including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography. In addition, A&M offers a discretionary bonus program which is based on a number of factors, including individual and firm performance.  Please ask your recruiter for details.
