Our Infrastructure and Capital Projects practice is comprised of over 650 sector experts and specialized consultants across the Globe. We combine strategic and operational expertise with a deep technical knowledge to support developers, sponsors, lenders, and projects leader to select, structure, improve and execute Capital Projects in a more efficient and sustainable way.
We have recently expanded to Australia and are looking for Associates and Senior Associates to join our Sydney team, focused on capital strategy for energy and mining clients – key areas in Australia’s energy transition. Our work spans across technical, commercial and regulatory aspects of early-stage project development, transaction services, and more.
This is a great opportunity for analytical self-starters with a background in engineering, commerce, finance to join a growing industry and a globally recognized firm.
Activities and Responsibilities
Contribute to the development of capital strategy solutions, ensuring alignment with industry trends and client objectives
Assist in preparing business cases and presentations for clients, delivering insights on project feasibility and value creation
Perform financial modelling, valuations and market analysis to support investment decisions and optimise capital allocation
Conduct due diligence to facilitate transactions, ensuring thorough evaluation of technical, commercial and regulatory aspects of both operating and development projects
Support local and global clients with market entry to existing and emerging asset classes including renewables, battery energy storage, green hydrogen and critical minerals
Collaborate with cross functional teams including engineering, financial and regulatory to deliver integrated project solutions
Support the preparation of proposals, thought leadership and go-to-market materials
What you will have to join the A&M team:
Bachelor of Commerce or Bachelor of Engineering preferred
Strong excel and power point skills required
Technical understanding of concepts within capital project development and management (studies, revenue, capex, opex and regulatory)
Experience in mining, energy, renewables or utility-scale energy storage projects preferred
Experience with data analytics and visualisation software (i.e., Alteryx, Power BI, Tableau) preferred
Prior experience in advisory firms will be viewed favourably, but is not essential
Possess excellent numerical, verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work with a small, fast-paced team and make critical decisions quickly
Willingness to learn, adapt and develop in a fast-paced sector
Availability to travel
