A&M Financial Services Industry (“FSI”) is a multinational division within the firm that works with leading financial services institutions across Europe and the USA, and revolves around four core areas of expertise: M&A, Performance Improvement, Credit and Real Estate Advisory, Bank Restructuring and Regulatory Advisory. Within A&M’s FSI, the M&A Financial Institutions Group (FIG) team advises a wide range of clients, from traditional players (Banks, Insurers, Asset and Wealth Managers) to FinTechs and Specialty Finance Institutions as well as Private Equity firms. The team focuses on EMEA coverage and operates out of London, Madrid, Milan, Paris and Frankfurt.
Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Analyst or Associate to join our M&A Financial Institutions Group (FIG) team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on challenging and high-profile M&A transactions across EMEA with a focus on financial institutions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support the coverage of the DACH and CEE markets across various financial institution sectors, i.e. banks, asset management, insurance, specialty finance, Fintech etc.).
• Conduct in-depth financial and strategic analyses of sectors and companies within the financial services industry.
• Assist in the development and preparation of marketing materials, pitch presentations, and transaction documents.
• Participate in due diligence efforts, including data gathering, analysis, and synthesis of findings.
• Collaborate closely with senior team members to support deal origination and execution activities.
• Contribute to the valuation process, including the use of financial modeling techniques and tools.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, market developments, and regulatory changes affecting financial institutions.
Qualifications:
• Relevant experience in investment banking / similar roles with a focus on financial institutions.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Strong financial modeling and analytical skills, with proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
• Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Understanding of M&A processes, deal structures, and financial analysis techniques.
• Willingness to develop and ability to learn quickly.
• Fluency in German and English is required.
