What do we do?

The Performance Improvement Practice works with Private Equity and Corporate clients all over the world. We offer end-to-end services throughout the investment life cycle by furnishing transaction advisory, supply chain excellence, performance improvement, turnaround, interim and crisis management. Our areas of expertise include pre-M&A due diligence, merger integration, post-M&A growth strategy, corporate finance advisory, organizational and cost transformation, supply chain and manufacturing operational improvement, interim and crisis management, and CFO finance leadership. We differentiate ourselves by the result-driven approach, the hands-on mindset, and the ability to provide leadership amidst complex situations.

A&M is rapidly expanding in across Australia and seeking to hire Associates and Senior Associates who will be responsible for research, analytical / problem solving, modelling, and report / presentation preparation, to supporting various engagements of complex and high-profile situations. They are required to deliver rapid results with focus on bottom-line improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive research and analysis: Execute thorough and efficient research and analysis to uncover key themes and trends that align with client needs and project hypotheses. This involves utilising a variety of primary and secondary data sources to gather relevant information, and applying analytical skills to interpret data in the context of industry dynamics and client objectives

  • Develop comprehensive financial models: Assist in the creation of detailed financial models, leveraging digital tools and techniques to extract high-level insights. By apply quality assurance controls, you will ensure the accuracy and reliability of model projections. Your work will support strategic financial planning and support data-driven decision-making

  • Synthesise and summarise research into high-quality client materials: Transform research findings and analyses into clear, concise, and impactful client materials. This includes creating presentations, reports, and other deliverables that effectively communicate insights and recommendations

  • Support business development activities: Collaborate with senior leaders in business development efforts, contributing to the creation of compelling proposals, thought leadership content, and industry or company analyses. This will involve identifying client needs, crafting tailored solutions, and articulating the value proposition of services offered. This will help position the firm as a trusted adviser and thought leader in the industry

  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships: Foster strong, collaborative relationships within the Performance Improvement service line and across Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) business units. Engage with colleagues to share knowledge, best practices, and insights, promoting a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement

We are seeking:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (Business, Accounting, Finance, Engineering or any major with quantitative focus) with a

  • Excellent analytical skills, logical and structured thinking, creative in problem solving

  • Ability to extract useful information from large sets of unorganized or incomplete data

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams concurrently

  • Superior interpersonal attributes including communication and soft skills, ability to work in a team, results/performance-oriented work style, entrepreneurial, personal maturity

  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written, capable of interaction at all levels in a company, from factory floor to CEO

  • Resourceful researcher

  • Detail-oriented

  • Strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills

  • Fluent in written and spoken English

  • Willingness to travel

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 – $100,000.00 per year
