Job Description

This Corporate Paralegal position will play a critical role within Alvarez & Marsal’s Legal Team. The position will support the corporate secretary function globally under the guidance of the Associate General Counsel. 

Job Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  • Assist with forming new entities or restructuring existing entities.
  • Assist with “Know your Client” and “Anti-Money Laundering” requests.
  • Prepare contracts from standard forms with advanced word-processing features.
  • Coordinate and manage contract execution with A&M leadership to meet required deadlines, including notarizing and obtaining apostilles or authentication documents as needed.
  • Assist with the new reporting requirements under the Corporate Transparency Act.
  • Interface with other teams at A&M, such as Human Resources, Tax, and Finance, to source information needed to respond to certain compliance requests.
  • Assist with organizing and managing A&M’s corporate electronic records and files for all A&M subsidiaries globally, including the internal entity management database.
  • Assist with various internal corporate processes.

Other Functions:

  • Undertake special projects of a complex nature under general supervision.
  • Perform miscellaneous administrative and clerical tasks as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Paralegal Certificate strongly preferred.
  • NY State Notary Required
  • Minimum of 3 years of legal administrative support experience in a professional environment.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office programs
  • Excellent interpersonal and listening skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Knowledge of correct grammar, spelling and punctuation
  • High level of judgment/organizational skills and initiative to deal with complex duties
  • Ability to adapt to constantly shifting priorities and a changing work environment
  • Ability to exercise discretion and integrity when dealing with sensitive, highly confidential matters

Additional Information

Work Environment - This is a hybrid in-office role based in our New York City office.  This legal team member will be expected to be in the office at least three days per week.

The salary range is $60,000 - $90,000 annually, dependent on several variables including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography. In addition, A&M offers a discretionary bonus program which is based on a number of factors, including individual and firm performance.  Please ask your recruiter for details
