Overview:

The Associate, Global Mobility & Immigration will be responsible for managing and streamlining our global mobility and immigration processes. This role will have a deep understanding of global immigration laws, policies, and best practices, and will work closely with HR, legal teams, and external partners to ensure smooth immigration and compliance for our international workforce. This position requires a hybrid schedule of at least 3 days in-office per week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the end-to-end immigration process for new hires and employees moving across borders, including assignments, transfers, and permanent relocations
  • Serve as SME for diverse business immigration caseload, including but not limited to H-1B, L-1, E-2, E-3, TN, PERM, and other employment-based visa petitions.  Canada TN Visa and Work Permit coordination.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant immigration laws and regulations in the countries where the firm operates. Stay up-to-date with changes in immigration policies and advise on their impact
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including HR, legal, and finance, to facilitate the smooth transition of employees. Act as the primary point of contact for employees regarding mobility and immigration matters
  • Manage relationships with external immigration service providers, including reviewing and negotiating contracts, ensuring service quality, and addressing any issues
  • Develop and update immigration policies and procedures to reflect best practices and changes in the regulatory environment
  • Provide guidance and training to HR and management teams on global mobility and immigration issues. Develop resources and tools to support employees and managers
  • Maintain accurate records of employee assignments and immigration statuses. Generate and analyze reports to support strategic decision-making and ensure compliance
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with global mobility and immigration, including potential legal, financial, and operational issues

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, International Business, Law, or a related field Advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., GMS, CGBP) are a plus
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in global mobility, immigration, or a related field, preferably within a large, multinational professional services firm
  • In-depth knowledge of global immigration laws, policies, and procedures. Familiarity with global mobility best practices and immigration processes
  • Strong organizational and project management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and navigate complex situations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with global mobility management software and systems

Benefits Summary:

  • Regular employees working 30 or more hours per week are also entitled to participate in Alvarez & Marsal Holdings’ fringe benefits consisting of healthcare plans, flexible spending and savings accounts, life, AD&D, and disability coverages at rates determined from time to time as well as a 401(k) retirement plan. Provided the eligibility requirements are met, employees will also receive a discretionary contribution to their 401(k) from Alvarez & Marsal. Additionally, employees are eligible for paid time off including vacation, personal days, seventy-two (72) hours of sick time (prorated for part time employees), ten federal holidays, one floating holiday, and parental leave. Compensation Statement:

  • The salary range is $80,000 - $90,000 annually, dependent on several variables including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography. In addition, A&M offers a discretionary bonus program which is based on a number of factors, including individual and firm performance.  Please ask your recruiter for details.
