These and other events have resulted in government and regulatory interventions, corporate investigations, financial restatements and a sizeable number of lawsuits. We deliver a wide array of solutions to contentious situations, where behaviour has not met expectations or systems and processes have not performed as expected. 

 

What we do

Our Disputes and Investigations practice (DI) offers investigations, fraud risk management, data analytics, litigation consulting, forensic accounting and forensic technology services. Our team comprises experienced investigators, accountants, auditors, computer forensics, eDiscovery and data scientists hailing from professional services firms, law enforcement and leading eDiscovery support providers.

 

What we are looking for

As a result of continued growth and expansion into Australia, DI is looking to hire a Manager with experience in fraud, corruption and misconduct investigations and fraud risk management for our Melbourne office.

You will be working with a dedicated team with global reach and be part of the broader South-East-Asia-Australia division.  D&I staff are integrated & work seamlessly alongside 100+ colleagues across our Performance Improvement & Restructuring practices, providing our clients with integrated solutions and approaches to address an array of increasingly complex & interlinked challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing fraud and corruption investigations and risk management engagements
  • Managing engagement budgets
  • Contribute to the growth of the DI team through strategy execution
  • Maintain awareness of trends and issues in fraud, corruption and serious misconduct to identify business opportunities

 

We are seeking:

At least 4 years’ experience conducting investigations into fraud, corruption and serious misconduct. This includes:

  • Preparation of investigation plans and budgets
  • Understanding of sources and methods of collection of information and evidence
  • Conducting interviews with witnesses and disclosers
  • Analysing complex financial and non-financial data
  • Asset tracing
  • Working knowledge of computer forensic tools as they apply to fraud, corruption and misconduct investigations, such as Relativity, NUIX
  • Making evidence-based findings
  • Preparing written investigation reports for a range of audiences including corporates, lawyers and law enforcement
  • Presenting findings to senior stakeholders
  • Managing investigations through to disciplinary, civil and/or criminal proceedings  (desirable).

 

At least 2 years’ experience in fraud and corruption risk management services (for example):

  • Fraud and corruption risk assessment
  • Fraud and corruption risk management reviews
  • Development and delivery of fraud and corruption awareness training 
  • Working knowledge of fraud data analytics
  • An understanding of business intelligence
  • Foreign bribery risk management
  • Design and delivery of fraud data analytics

 

Professional services skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Effective supervision and leadership skills, to guide and develop junior employees
  • Effective interpersonal and team management skills
  • Build business contacts with corporates, government, law enforcement, regulators and law firms
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Suite
  • Thought leadership development

 

Qualifications

  • Relevant qualifications, training and/certifications such as Certificate III in investigative services, Certificate IV in Government Investigations
  • Relevant tertiary qualification (desirable)
  • Membership of relevant professional organisations such as Australian Institute of Professional Investigators, Association of Certified Fraud Examiners
