How you will contribute

The Senior Communications Lead will be a key member of our People Experience team, responsible for shaping and executing a comprehensive People communications strategy that aligns with our mission, values, and strategic objectives within our Global People Office (GPO). This role demands a seasoned communications professional who can partner with senior leadership, GPO Functional Leads and team members, Corporate Marketing, Knowledge Management, and additional A&M communication-focused teams.  They will create, execute and lead high-impact communication initiatives and ensure our organization’s voice is consistent and compelling across all channels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Senior Communication Counsel: Serve as a strategic advisor to our GPO Leads, providing expert guidance on communication best practices, media relations, and events / engagements.
  • Strategic Communication Planning and Execution: Develop and implement integrated People Organization communication strategies that support the organization's goals and enhance brand reputation from beginning to end.  Develop and implement a global communication tracker and calendar that is used proactively to schedule communications in advance.
  • Strategic People Brand Support: Help our People Experience team with developing our internal brand and raising awareness across the firm for people initiatives, programs, and employee offerings (i.e., benefits).
  • Content Creation and Oversight: Develop and oversee the creation of people-focused communications, campaigns and communication strategies.  Communications include social media posts, presentations, emails, website content, and internet articles. Ensure all content reflects the organization’s voice and values and routes through necessary approvals (i.e., Head of People Experience).
  • Team Leadership and Strategic Partner: Lead and mentor the People Experience Communications team and GPO communication contacts, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence. Serve as a strategic partner to our GPO communication contacts and broader People Experience team.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure cohesive and effective communication strategies are defined and effectively planned. Act as a liaison between the GPO communication contacts, Marketing, Corporate Communications, and Knowledge Management teams.
  • Performance Metrics: Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of communication strategies. Use data-driven insights to refine and optimize communication efforts. Provides the Head of People Experience with frequent updates and KPI tracking on global communication strategy and execution.
  • PX Leadership Output: Develops PX overview and leadership content for People Experience team used to share with GPO Global Leads / key stakeholders (i.e., Employee Engagement Survey).

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Business, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred but not required.
  • Experience: Previous professional consulting firm experience of more than 5 years. A minimum of 10-15 years of experience in senior communications roles, with a proven track record of working with executives and leading successful communication campaigns.
  • Skills:
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
    • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
    • Proficiency in digital communication tools and platforms such as Pardot or Amplify.
    • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills and presentation skills.
    • Ability to thrive under pressure and manage multiple high-stakes projects simultaneously.
    • Strong PowerPoint presentation skills to develop slides and presentations for internal team updates.

Provided the eligibility requirements are met, employees will also receive a discretionary contribution to their 401(k) from Alvarez & Marsal. Additionally, employees are eligible for paid time off including vacation, personal days, seventy-two (72) hours of sick time (prorated for part time employees), ten federal holidays, one floating holiday, and parental leave. The salary range is $155,000 - $175,000 annually, dependent on several variables including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography. In addition, A&M offers a discretionary bonus program which is based on a number of factors, including individual and firm performance.  Please ask your recruiter for details.
