A&M's Tax team is comprised of former Big Four accounting firm and industry tax professionals experienced in providing practical tax advice across all industries including private equity, private clients, infrastructure, mining, healthcare, financial institutions, energy, environmental services, technology, and education.

Position overview: Graduate and undergraduate tax programs

We are seeking top-performing students with a strong interest in tax to join our dynamic team to launch their careers in early 2026. Designed for university graduates and current students who are at least two years into their studies who are eager to gain professional experience, A&M’s Tax programs include the opportunity to work within all teams in the Australian A&M Tax practice, along with formal, regular training and development, structured performance evaluations, mentoring support, and networking opportunities to enhance your on-the-job learning.

Your day-to-day responsibilities may include:

  • Research, write and assist with various tax advisory engagements, including but not limited to, complex tax and structuring advice.
  • Undertake tax due diligence to identify key tax risks and potential ‘deal breakers’ and develop mitigation strategies in an M&A context.
  • Assist clients with the preparation and review of their tax compliance obligations.
  • Assist clients with all forms of engagement with revenue authorities, including strategic advice on managing complex tax risks.
  • Assist with business development efforts such as preparing marketing materials to drive the continued growth of A&M in Australia and supporting client proposals and pitches.
  • Participate in meetings and conference calls with clients and the global A&M team.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Currently at least two years into your bachelor’s or master’s degree in law, commerce, accounting, taxation (or a related degree).
  • Prior work experience in accounting, tax or law is looked upon favourably but not required.
