About A&M, Global Capability Center A&M is setting up a high-quality global capability center in India. The capability center will have dedicated centers of expertise which will work with A&M leadership across multiple business units and geographies to enable efficient service delivery to A&M clients. While this unique journey has been initiated, the firm is on a look out for building strong capable team for the center. Our center is expanding rapidly and we already have 500+ people onboard.
We are seeking a Manager with Indirect tax experience to join our growing International Tax practice. In this role, you will work with experienced partners and teams to advise corporate clients across all industries on various aspects of indirect tax including Middle East VAT
Reports to: Senior Director - A&M Global Capability Center
Key responsibilities:
As a Manager within Middle East Indirect Tax practice, you will:
• Review and support in preparing UAE VAT returns.
• Prepare advisory memorandums on UAE VAT related matters.
• Prepare email advisories on UAE VAT related matters
• Provided support for tax due diligences done by the Middle East team.
• Conduct VAT Health checks, indirect tax diagnostic reviews for UAE based clients.
• Assistance in obtaining UAE VAT refunds (preparation and review of refund files)
• Handle registration, de-registration, tax grouping etc.
• Supervise, develop, mentor, and motivate our Associates and Senior Associates by activelyparticipating in their advancement through on-the-job training, providing performance feedback,counseling, and fostering our team-based atmosphere.
• Manage workload and deadlines for Associates and Senior Associates with focuses on quality,efficiency, and effectiveness of the project team.
• Manage client calls to understand critical areas of importance and apply tax technical knowledgeto specific client situations.
• Create deliverables that are concise, complete, and address the elements deemed critical by theclient.
• Clearly communicate work plan, project objectives, and timelines to multidisciplinary projectteams.
• Encourage open expression of ideas and opinions, actively seeks opportunities for others to sharediverse experiences and perspectives.
• Build client relationships and demonstrate a working knowledge of client businesses; withopportunity to assume additional responsibility quickly.
Qualifications/ Ideal Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting and/ or master’s degree in accounting or taxation field
• 6+ years of relevant experience required, preferably in professional services firm.
• Prior proven experience leading and managing work streams and mentoring junior staff
• Excellent verbal and written skills with the ability to articulate complex tax concepts, establish credibility and influence clients
• Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills
• Advanced user of all Microsoft Office products (with an emphasis on Excel)
• Ability to simultaneously work on several projects and effectively manage deadlines
• High motivation to learn and grow
• Detail-oriented and possess strong organizational skills
