Team Profile:
Alvarez & Marsal’s Business Transformation Services (BTS) works with mid to large cap companies with growth aspirations and profitability / efficiency related challenges.
The sector focus will be Healthcare, Healthcare technology, Pharma and Lifesciences with service offerings such as Investment / Market Entry Solutions, Commercial/Operational Due Diligence, Revenue Enhancement Solutions. Some additional areas which are “nice to have” but not “must have” are - Supply Chain & Operations Improvement, and Digital Transformation.
How will you contribute:
Strategic Problem Solving & Thought Leadership -
- Steer complex, high-impact engagements for marquee global and Indian Private Equity firms and corporate clients within the HLS domain.
- Shape problem statements into actionable strategies; ensure a structured, hypothesis-driven approach across all client engagements.
- Drive strategic insights by deeply understanding client businesses, industry dynamics, and key value drivers across healthcare delivery, life sciences, and medtech verticals.
- Synthesize data into compelling insights and connect the dots to deliver a clear “so-what” and the broader strategic narrative.
- Serve as the final quality gate for delivery documents including strategic market models, commercial due diligence reports, and operational transformation frameworks.
Project & Portfolio Management -
- Take full ownership of engagement delivery – ensuring timelines, quality, team performance, and client satisfaction across multiple project streams.
- Build and scale high-performing delivery teams, developing both domain depth and consulting capabilities.
- Proactively identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring smooth execution and early course-correction where needed.
Client Engagement & Relationship Management -
- Act as a strategic advisor to senior client stakeholders – from CXOs to investment committee members.
- Drive senior-level conversations that go beyond immediate project scopes, influencing long-term client strategy.
- Build and expand trusted relationships, becoming the client’s go-to leader for strategic and operational transformation across the HLS value chain.
- Navigate complex stakeholder ecosystems across PE firms, portfolio companies, hospitals, pharma, and medtech clients

People Leadership & Firm Building -
- Foster a culture of performance and collaboration within the practice.
- Mentor and coach Directors, Senior Managers, and project teams to build strong internal HLS capability.
- Lead internal knowledge initiatives, codify best practices, and elevate the intellectual capital of the firm.
- Drive inclusion by valuing diverse perspectives, experiences, and backgrounds across the team.
Practice Building & Business Development -
- Drive growth of the Healthcare & Life Sciences practice – co-develop the go-to-market strategy, shape sector offerings, and define areas of strategic focus.
- Lead origination efforts by leveraging industry relationships, spotting opportunities, and converting pitches into impactful mandates.
- Manage and grow key accounts; become the relationship anchor for priority clients within the sector.
- Represent the firm externally at industry events, thought leadership forums, and in media as an expert voice in HLS.
Executive Communication & Stakeholder Influence -
- Communicate with clarity, brevity, and impact – both in written and verbal formats – across boardrooms and internal leadership forums.
- Bring strong storytelling capabilities to create compelling narratives that resonate with clients and stakeholders.
- Lead with executive presence, adapting communication style to engage diverse audiences and influence outcomes.
- Align internal and external stakeholders around common goals, facilitating decision-making at critical junctures.
Basic Qualifications:
- MBA from a tier 1 business school
Experience Required:
- 12 plus years of strategy and CDD/ODD/deals consulting experience post MBA with top consulting organizations
- Experience in being part of Performance Improvement engagements for large global organizations
