Alvarez & Marsal Mexico is currently seeking a Tax Controversy Intern to join our Mexico City office. This position is designed for recent graduates who are interested in gaining hands-on experience in tax litigation, defense strategies, and administrative procedures before tax authorities.

Who will you be working with?

The Tax Controversy team works closely with national and international clients, providing legal defense and strategic support throughout audits, administrative procedures, and litigation.

Qualifications

  • Recent graduate in Law
  • Preferably with 6 months to 1 year of prior experience in a legal, or tax-related role.
  • Strong interest in tax law, administrative procedures, and legal defense.
  • Advanced English (required – capable of reviewing and drafting legal documents in English).
  • Excellent legal writing, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Proactive attitude, ability to work under pressure, and strong interpersonal skills.

How you'll contribute

  • Support the preparation of legal briefs, claims, responses, and other procedural documents.
  • Conduct legal and tax research on current laws, court precedents, and administrative criteria.
  • Assist in the analysis of tax audits, assessments, and defense strategies.
  • Help prepare presentations for internal use and for clients or authorities.
  • Collaborate with other tax service lines to deliver integrated solutions.
